Advanced league stuff: True damage math challenge

I was mentioning earlier that tanking is kindof complicated against true damage. It requires some advanced knowledge but one could call anything "advanced" so i'd like to see just how much it takes to demonstrate this. I have my own way but maybe some math wiz could simplify it for me.

First we pick a champ

Vayne MasterYi Ahri Irelia Darius Fiora Garen

then we need to conceptualize what their true damage actually does

Does it rapidly whittle you down? MasterYi

does it burst in a narrow aoe pattern Ahri

does it periodically chunk you? Vayne

but then I want to see how it actually impacts the game.. for example, when the receiving end was built optimally (a few years back) vayne would effectively penetrate 25% of their defensive gold value (not that any item is perfectly 100% gold efficient to begin with), I'd like for people to put numbers like that into place but in simple, NON-MISLEADING terms. Misleading as in stupid shit that will cause people to lose a lot of games like saying Vayne makes defense useless.

Don't forget to suggest "mathmatically ideal" damage prevention builds if you can. Remember to simplify it as much as you can. You want to basically make a guideline that says who you are playing or want to be playing or emulate and if they need more of a certain type of item. Factor in how much damage said champ will be dealing as well under the assumption that vayne is not going to be terribly tanky if at all or that lifesteal or spellvamp will be significant on them.

when you play them just check out where the BS true damage is coming from (true damage outside of red buff and ignite is a toxic game element as far as I'm concerned).

The theory is that the counter to true damage is health stacking. But some of these champions build %health damage items as well or its in their kit. So in reality as long as they have true damage in significant quantities as some of them do, there is zero defensive counterplay beyond hoping someone can cc/burst them to kill them while you run away as fast as you can (which is extremely difficult against vayne due to passive).

This is why no champion should have true damage in their kit unless riot goes through and makes sure no champion can pair it with %health damage. the 45% bonus armor pen from LW items with someone else stacking cleaver stacks on tanks already makes them feel like a squishy champion. There is literally no need to also throw in true damage.

Vayne is auto attack crits with true damage and %health because she always builds a bork-> Ninja tabi, randuins, warmogs +health centric defensive items will be your friends. ninja tabi is 10% reduction on aa. randuins is 10% reduction on crits with health and armor, warmogs is a boatload of health. If she's critting 100% of the time, just the %reductions alone have taken her to 80% damage. .. which buys you just enough time to hope someone else can burst her down before she kills everyone.

Fiora is %health true damage with lifesteal. Unless you have a mob of people or can burst her down, dont even try to engage that nonsense.
