To be fair, Seraph played that really badly too. First of all, he didn't stand behind minions to block some of Ryze's Qs. Even then, he should stand outside Ryze's E range so that it doesn't bounce several times onto him. The biggest mistake is just staying within Ryze's range while he has ult., nearly max stacks, and plenty of mana (all while being near his turret to eliminate ANY risk). 40% winrate pre-5.10 Ryze could do this at level 11. Irelia is full offense and she can't afford to make those mistakes.

With that said, perhaps the chain Ws should get reduced duration. I'm not sure because right now his winrate even in the highest ELO games is nothing remarkable. These cheese plays don't seem to be enough. Once I see great performance from him, I'll be much less hesitant to nerf him. He has been gutted for so long that I don't want to suddenly bring him back to unviability after a week of him being strong.

Well he couldn't really stand behind minions because he was chain snared. Also, pre 5.10 couldn't do that until level 16. The fact that he can now do it at level 6 is fucking huge
