PSA: This is a competitive game, not the Dungeons & Dragons game you have going on in your basement

Just in case anyone forgot.

Stop whining about 'how the champion feels.' This roleplaying shit should take a back seat to actual viability and where the champion stands competitively. This is a competitive game, not a tabletop.

Without D&D there is no LoL.

Or just about ANY major game. WoW, Rune Scape, Guild Wars, Skyrim, Fallout, Disgaea, etc etc. At a games very base core there are still the old D&D fundamentals.

Implying DND was the sole responsibility for games based on POPULAR lore that outdated DND in the first place

A Champion without a unifying gameplay theme basically has nothing to go on mechanics-wise. Sure, tuning and balancing is important, but designers also need to make sure they have a good grasp on the Champion's thematics, so that they can then gauge what would be most appropriate for said Champion's kit. Otherwise, we end up with nonsensical things like a DoT flamethrower ability on a mermaid Champion who lives underwater in the arctic.

It's not impossible to get a Champion's 'feel' right while also making them competitively viable.
