He has too much damage, his poke with Q is like pre-rework nidalee spear poke (broken). and range is insane and it can pass through minions!!
His ult is broken as fuck because it can root multiple targets.
His attack speed is INSANE.
He can benefit just by building 
and burst you down in 2 seconds.
His poke Q is also very easy to dodge You have a blatant warning saying "VARUS IS ABOUT TO USE HIS Q" While charging it he also loses movespeed and cant do anything else and so is vulnerable.
It deals less damage for each target hit so firing through minions deals much less damage

Its only a root, meaning enemies can still cast abilities and auto attack. It is rather easy to dodge, a slow moving blob that stands out in the middle of a teamfight. If it hits someone, it even gives an indicator of how far away it can thrn chase allies. Lux doesnt do that? Her q roots multiple people, does more damage, gives an auto attack buff and has a shorter cooldown? Doesnt that mean Lux Q is super broken?
His attack speed is INSANE. Because he builds attack speed. Thats how he gets his 3 stacks of w He builds 3 - 4 attack speed items (not counting boots) and so ofcourse his attack speed will be insane.
Play Draven with a chad support and you'll come to find Varus isn't much of a problem. Certainly not broken lmao.
