My thoughts on AP vs AP items, (not going to be a complaint post)

I guess this would count as my response to a couple previous threads I've seen regarding AP vs AD items and how the top 10 mid laners are actually mostly comprised of mages and the such. My only thoughts on this is that while AD champions only slightly outnumber AP (about 61 AD to around 54 AP based off of what champs are more suited to build what), there's also the fact that AD champs have multiple types of stats they could possibly build around that the items also give:

  • Attack Damage
  • Attack Speed
  • Lethality
  • Armor Penetration
  • Life Steal
  • Crit Chance
  • CDR

whereas AP champs are mostly concerned about building:

  • Ability Power
  • Magic Penetration
  • Mana
  • CDR

I'd like to note that I'm leaving out tank stats/resists because technically, both AD and AP can build these types of stats, and I know I'm probably ignoring the fact that maybe that's the point of certain resistance items are the cause of the current argument, but my main point is this: Considering that Mages/AP champions as a whole are mostly concerned about building around 4 particular stats, whereas AD champions have up to 7 different stats to choose to build around, does it not make sense that AD champions would get more items for them to build around?

I'm just trying to give something for everyone to think about is all.

can people stop the "top 10 mid champions are AP"? do they remember that the reason behind this is that they vastly outnumber AD Mids? including off meta builds AP still outnumbers, the fact that any of these few champions being part of the top 10 is more than enough counter argument to this....

also i dont mind mages not getting more burst items, but it isnt fair for AD champs to have so many defensive offensive options (even a straight up damage reduction passive instead of resistance stats) while we are stuck with 2, one for each resistance stat
