A look at the new Ryze

So, here we are, 2 or 3 patches into Ryze's new kit, and for some reason, it has stayed constantly at a poor 43-44% winrate. Not only that, but Riot has not supplied their usual insight into this terrible winrate like they usually doafter a patch or two as far as I have seen. So what happened? What caused Ryze to go down to such a poor performance level?

I would point at player inexperience and the kit still needing to be learned, but let's face it, the kit itself is simplistic in design, and proper efficient use of it is as easy as mastering the Q - > E - > Q - > E - > Q - > W - > Q combo. So what happened?

My theory is the loss of AOE on his kit. He can do a LOT of damage to a single target champion, but not only is that to only one champion, it also takes a lot longer for that damage to ramp up and be meaningful, a problem most other mages don't have as their burst can come out extremely quickly.

Anyone else have an idea as to why Ryze's winrate is so consistently poor as of the rework?

its the new ulti it is useless at 1 rank and even at 2 its still so situational he might as well not hAVE it. The rest of his kit is good i think

Oh yes, I forgot to talk about the ulti. I'm not going to lie, it feels tacked on for the sake of just having his ult be something that isn't damage. Unfortunately it fails as an ultimate because it doesn't have the impact of an ultimate. It's a less useful TF ult, at best
