Yar, [Sivir] (and Akali, and somewhat Ezreal) seem to be standing out as cases that suffered from our shift in approach. The case for all three is "they're not bad at the moment, but we'd like to give them a little nudge to help them get to a more viable spot for playoffs/worlds".

Wow, just wow. Sick fucking joke, Riot. Those buffs to her Q are MASSIVE, for a champion that was already decent in solo queue and seeing competitive play. This is almost as bad as the whole fiasco that happened with Lee Sin a while back. Expect Sivir to be 100% p/b at worlds.

Did anyone even think of solo queue? Who the hell finds it fun to be pushed in nonstop, taking damage any time you're even near your own minions? Al!ost as bad as laning against Caitlyn. But muh e-$ports are more important.

EDIT: THANK GOD that someone at Riot realized how dumb such a huge Sivir buff was. After immediately post-rework Sivir, I never want to deal with something that dumb again.

Riot's balance team is honestly clueless. Instead of actually nerfing champs that are OP and/or broken, they just buff random champs whether they are healthy or not. Just look at that ridiculous buff to Akali, ZERO reason whatsoever for that, especially considering that the #1 NA player is an Akali main with a 65% win rate AT CHALLENGER LEVEL!

Nerfing only leads to the next three champions being better. Unless you rise others to get past the minimum level of strength for LCS, or to buff them in the right place so that having a weakness exploitable in LCS isn't as bad, then it's just going to be a repeat of the strongest three.

I see this argument everytime, and it makes no sense. There is a reason why a lot of champions aren't prevalent in LCS, and while some few being strong is a factor, the main factor is that they're just not worth it. Lots of champions not seen in LCS are vulnerable to ganks, or easily camped. Some are easily dodged, predictable, binary, some other issue.

Just by nerfing the strongest, doesn't let those few get into the scene, they're still vulnerable to the next big three and the issues that make them not very good in LCS in the first place.

I doubt +5 MS or +15 damage is going to break anyone. Biggest buffs in there were for an already weak Ezreal and perhaps Akali.

Pretty sure Ezreal Q cooldown was 4.5 seconds at rank 1 on pbe once, then it got increased to 5.5 so... Still pretty dangerous.

Yeah and buffing these champs to get them into the lcs just makes them absolutely overtuned for soloQ which is the last thing i want. I only watch fnatic and worlds a bit, i couldn't care less about the pro scene but i care about my fuckin own games being one big clownfiesta. I hate having no idea anymore who to ban because a third of the roster is absolutely overtuned and riot just keeps adding champs to it. I want my games to be decided by smart picks and skillfull play and not by "which is currently the most overtuned champ, ah yeah freelooo".

Akali is fundamentally flawed that is true.

Riot themselves stated that they wana VGU her.

But these buffs.....aren't big? Like 2 seconds on a 20 seconds CD ability.

And a 10% ap ratio buff on her dang passive, it will be like 5-50+ damage at most times compared to before, it's barely even noticeable i´d think because you need to stack both AD and AP to make it work.

Akali usually don't build much damage these days as far as i know, instead opting for some early and then tank items in general.

Her issue's are not found in her passive that much i am sure of, and such a small buff won't suddenly make her OP or anything similar, at most it would just show were she has been all along.

The buffs might be small and still have big impact. However I believe that the it is not about the size of the buff, but buffing a balanced (even strong) champion.

As riot mentioned i think, the general playerbase (everything below high diamond in this case) can't manage to win with akali due to how....limited she is.

She either cheeses someone early and snowballs hard and ends very early or she loses, but she kinda failed to end a lot even if she won big early.

Not that i am fond of champs that need to snowball hard as hell and are essentially unstoppable if they actually do x)

I hope Riot comes around to her VGU sometime not too late.

mean while Graves only got nefed for performing EXTREMELY deadly for 10 patches. these 2 got nerfed 3 days right after patch note come. people didnt have a chance to try it out yet.

The difference is the complexity and difficulty of the champion. Singed and Nunu are relatively simple, with play patterns that are relatively annoying, and down right frustrating when too strong. While Graves is undoubtedly annoying when strong, he at least is putting himself near you to acheive his goal.

How can you possibly say that sivir was already strong? dude she was the crappiest adc with the exception ofJinx (srry jinx mains its true). the fact is she was a terrible pick for solo que because her scaling isnt as good as vayne caitlyn or tristana (or jinx hehe), and her early game was bad compared to jhin lucian draven etc. She was litterally only good @ 2-3 items and people are freaking out. She really,really needed it

nonononono thats not what i was saying adcs are suppoused to be good @ 2-3 items. Sivir did this, then hit 4 items and was outscalled by almost every single ad in the game, combined with her weak early compared to other ads made her god awful

what are you talking about? sivir is one of the weakest adc currently, 500 range, high mana costs early, her only saving graces are push power and team utility, other than that, any adc can beat her, hell even in pushing power jinx, or tris are better.

Her W takes a long time to actually hurt (she needs crit), her Q has high mana cost early game which means she runs out of mana fast (also her only way to push lanes reliably) and her spell shield is nothing to write home about when currently tanks have 4 different CC's thrown at you at the span of 3-5 seconds (and that's just 1 champ). Where do you play that sivir is a "menace"

ohhhh now i get it, sivir isnt "weak" all the other marksmen are OP NO COUNTERPLAY Q.Q. I explained pretty clearly why she is in a very weak state, she lacks safety, range and burst all for a pretty medicore team utility. But she's balanced because you just dont see her in your games

Its easier to balance around everything though, and top level players are still active members of the community and need to practice the patch. Alternative idea - Be more reasonable with balance changes to prevent problems at both levels. I think they're usually good about this with the small nerfs, though they do weird things like ignore the actual problems of a champion and just nerf numbers until they don't exist (IE - Nerfing Fiora speed instead of her absurd damage or weird things like AS slow, Nerfing Zacs damage patch after patch after patch instead of addressing his E into Q making R unmissable, ect).

Are you dumb? it isn't about later in the game when she has maxed her q. The issue is level 1 where the base damage goes from 25 per hit to freaking 55. It is more than doubled during the first few minutes which is a huge buff

If Sivir manages to hit only you with her Q (which isnt hard at all) it will do nearly 200 damage at level 1 with those buffs.

Okay, I don't agree with a lot of the balance changes that happened this patch, but Sivir? C'mon man, she has been a dirt tier ADC for a while and people are upset she got buffs but completely fine when Jhin gets pushed back to top tier ADC after only 2 months out of the meta?

Sivir was considered weak in soloQ. She deserved some kind of love. Every last patch before was nerf , nerf and nerf to her. She got gutted . She deserved it and this buff is not huge like you state.

That's not true at all.

Sivir was by far one of the weakest ADCs in game atm. Her utility was outshone by champs like Ashe Varus Jhin . She was in need of buffs - almost all of the Meddler Gameplay thoughts were filled with people asking for buffs to sivir.

Solo Queue isn't the focus for any of the patches right now. Generally these next 4 patches are all about worlds. 7.15, 7.16, 7.17 up to 7.18 which Worlds will be played on.
