So the point of crit nerfs is to make people play Lucian/Kai Sa bot every game?

I'm an ADC main,i even mained Lucian so i don't mind them being strong, its just what's the point of trashing half of the ADC rooster?

You're just constricting the amount of playable champs, nothing else. ADCs are still there almost every game, and most of them are just as strong as before,if not even stronger due to how short games are now.

Its hilarious to see all these "I'M HAVING SO MUCH FUN PLAYING BOT LANE NOW" posts where people talk about doing some wonky shit in normal games like you couldn't play Zyra/Lux before for some reason, yet in 90% of the games you see Lucian,Kai Sa,Ezreal or Draven bot and they will kick your ass as hard as they ever would.

Crit nerfs did literally nothing but change the most popular ADC picks,so what was the point of it again?

Point of it was to make the game faster for the esports big bucks.

point of it was to tone down the crazy damage of crit adcs and still allow them to have significant power later in the game. don't see what's so wrong here, didn't really appreciate getting 3 shot by vayne or twitch, crits just did a fuck ton of damage and zeal items were insanely cheap.

There is no late game anymore, the only difference to you is that now Lucian is 3 shooting you at the 15. minute mark

That's a problem with the game as a whole

I thought the point was to make lategame fights be less reliant on the adc. Since a lategame adc could "solo" carry as long as the team acts as a meatshield.

Sure nefing adcs lategame might be good for the game's health so other roles can shine & carry lategame easier. But I feel like Riot did it the wrong way.

They nerfed & slowed down the powerspike of adcs but they didn't give them anything in return in the early/mid game.

They shouldn't have increased crit item prices. That just delays the powerspike. The IE nerf was fine. A good adc can still carry a game lategame just as much as any other role can now even with the nerf's to IE.

However, getting to that point is a lot slower now compared to anyone else and they didn't get anything to compensate or to help them get there early/mid game. I feel like those crit adcs need individual early game buffs to help them become relevant earlier in the game or to make them relevant in the early/mid game without making them an "op" or "must have" role when reaching that point.

I do because everyone is banning him and picking him so i can't play him

its just what's the point of trashing half of the ADC rooster?

the only unviable adcs are sivir twitch cait jinx, xayah is viable due to a bug twitch and jinx are getting buffed idk why sivir isn't cait won't get buffed because she's the gatekeeper of bot lane and when viable pushes almost everyone out of bot lane

90% of the games you see Lucian,Kai Sa,Ezreal or Draven bot

because lucian kai sa and ez are gross, not because the adc class is weak jhin has the same pick rate than draven same for miss fortune

nerf the hilarious damage on squishies in late game, since crit nerf squishies are more free to do things they want because adcs aren't hitting for 250% of their ad

personal note: as an adc main i loved the patch because i main lucian ashe, both of those champions when crit was overpowered couldn't play the game because: A: Lucian's mid game was matched by other adcs which should not happen B: Ashe can't burst with crit unlike other adcs

I also love the new diversity in build instead of: Rush ER+RFC+IE on ashe/jhin/lucian/xayah Rush IE+RFC+Shiv on everyone else

The point is that they should have predicted this shit and nerfed Lucian and especially fucking Kai'Sa in advance. Now instead they will buff crit again and we are back to the same old shit. The ADC power levels are perfect right now, problem is that everything else is fucked up because of all the damage.

ADC is an outdated term. Botlane and Support should the new labels for the roles.

Learn to play the role not the class. I was an ADC main before the changes but now I'm a botlane main. It's the lane and role most familiar to me and I'm happy I can play almost any champion, including marksmen, in the role I like playing. I've played Rumble and Vlad bottom, it was fun. I've played Yasuo and Fiora bottom, that was fun as well. MF and Jhin are also great marksmen to play that don't have to build crit and still have very effective damage output. I still play crit marksmen after the changes. The build path is somewhat different but more or less the same as it used to be. Building is just clunky and it could be better but I still like playing the role and whatever I think would work in the lane.

Now to finally answer your question, the changes to crit were to (d)evolve the marksmen crit meta and open up the diversity you see today. If you read the patch notes you'd understand. But to gloss over it so you don't take the 4 seconds of your precious like to look it up yourself. It's to make it so Infiinty Edge wasn't a strong item to rush and that crit damage wouldn't have an overbearing significance in bot lane once any crit was built. It was more or less having a controlled Tryndamere on both teams, first to get IE almost always won. However building the same crit build from Season 7 would have bigger payouts in the late game at a cost of 1500g total to the build, where late game, almost all gold is funneling into elixirs.

jeez tone it down with the passive-aggressiveness,i didn't really ask for the official reason why crit was nerfed,i read the patch notes, its just that it doesn't make any sense since it did nothing except limit the viable ADC rooster

Crit nerfs should have happened way earlier if they were gonna happen at all... when they did come Kaisa and Ezreal were already the top ADCs anyways.

Riot has plans to buff individual damage numbers on marksmen abilities instead of fixing the role so prepare to see traditional hyper scaling ADCs to start playing like AD mages too if they ever come to see the face of earth again.
