Hey guys remember that brief period of time when ADCs said their role was the weakest in the game?
lol
lol
I mean, they were. The only good adcs were
, who were all hyper carries. All of the other adcs were garbage.
Not sure why you got downvoted for that, that is literally the most accurate description of Season 5 when it comes to bottom lane.
The only viable ADCs were the ones you listed above.
The only viable Support was
with the occasional
.
That was it. Literally every bottom lane game I played was with one of those six champions, regardless of circumstance.
was a pretty badass support too
Well yes, badass, but I didn't really see him that often.
Bear in mind I'm talking about Normals, not Ranked, as I don't play Ranked. Doubt it was any different there though. The mindset of winning being the sole goal of this game transferred right into normals as well unfortunately, so the meta probably wasn't much different in either realms.
Well to be fair if you aren't a good alistar you are basically 4v5. I've had plenty of bad alistars and it is horrible. One actually fucked up the leash by throwing gromp through the wall.

I just lol'd picturing that
I still scream a little inside everytime I think about it.
I tried to help my ADC and accidentally sent the enemy support through the wall. I got yelled at for saving them :[
Bard and Alistar are pretty tense to play as because it's so easy to help the enemy team

The gap is definitely way, way, way smaller than it was before. Hell, adc choices in pro play this season are easily the most diverse I've ever seen, although the resurgence of Sivir as top tier has started to ruin that. I hate when Sivir is good because she forces the game into a teamfight meta whenever she's top tier and makes the game really stale. If you can't survive a Sivir ult engage, you're not viable. Sucks, but that's how it is.

Sadly I'm seeing sivir a lot lately... fucking hate adcs with safety, it kind of defies their trait.

Sivir isn't safe, she has 500 range and no dash, blink or self peel, she relies solely on outrunning people for safety, the spellshield is just compensation for her massive mana costs and vulnerability.
Spell shield makes her pretty safe. Like really safe.
Spell shield makes her pretty safe. Like really safe.
It doesn't maker her safe, it helps her slightly protect herself because of how her playstyle and range make her innately close to danger.
It's probably one of the stronger adc skills out there.
Don't forget the douchejack of all trades
who is still overcompensating for his lack of cigar.
was great, her problem was the fact that Vayne had a free laningphase VS Sivir, and Sivir wouldn't be able to handle Vayne's Single target damage.
was a thing, but he was played Midlane with
and stuffs
is always kinda just Draven, you can play him for sure but there are better options. Draven just wasn't bad, Draven was just Draven.

You mean before their itemization was completely changed and several of their kits were significantly altered?

And yet they were still mandatory even then.
And yet they were still mandatory even then.
You mean that even after all of that, most ADCs still can't even outtrade a majority of SUPPORT champs? Oh yeah, ADC is definitely a strong role, lmao.

At what stage of the game are ADCs struggling to out-trade supports?
I've out-traded ADCs as Thresh and Braum thousands of times up to around level 9 :O

That's the point of the game where supports shouldn't automatically be losing trades with ADCs. Supports don't fight people as the game goes on because they get no items but at that point you're on pretty even terms with the ADC, so there's no reason you should be at a disadvantage.
Not many people realise this but supports aren't designed to be worthless champions incapable of ever doing anything in combat. They fall off because they don't get gold and the gold they do get isn't spent selfishly but they're as capable as any other champion early. Braum in particular should probably destroy ADCs in 1v1s early.
EDIT: To clarify, my point is that "lol ADCs can't outtrade supports" doesn't mean they're weak. Supports are designed to have strong trades early and there's no way an ADC will lose to a support after that point.

I top lane braum and win a lot.
I top lane braum and win a lot.
Well if you're top lane Braum you're just a top lane tank, not a support.

Tahm kench and annie would have a word with you.

You'll spend half the fight stunned while your health slowly melts away.
out of that, what's the support item? the sightstone alteration thing only.
everything else is tank stats.... you are not a support, you got no
no
no
The only thing you add is vision with your ward thingy and engage speed with
That's a s5 top lane tank build, not a support
So my support Leona build is good?
[slayer-jinx-wink]
replace thornmail with a
you heretic, or you will be purged.
also, get a darn crucible for your adc >.> of he might just get hit by a single morgana q and lose you the game.
Got no time for my adc while I'm diving in to solo theirs. It's called my "sit on your adc's face" build. And Leona so hot they don't complain ;)
(Pun intended)
ok, then remove the ice gauntlets, i like my gingers in heat, not cold ;)
Lina intensifies
I once 1v1'd a half fed twitch as a almost full build taric with nothing but armor.
I once 1v1'd a half fed twitch as a almost full build taric with nothing but armor.
To be fair, that's less about ADCs and more about Taric. I dunno how he does it but Taric can 1v1 most people late game lol.
It's a combination of his massive resists, his armor scaling damage on his W & passive, his ult giving damage stats, his big self heal, and the fact that his CDR passive let's him permastun you if you can't keep him from proccing it.
Gems are truly, truly, truly, truly outrageous.
PS. Did I mention that his W has a flat armor shred that scales with his armor?
Those overconfident enemy ADCs never see it coming >:)
I don't consider her a real support.
are practically secret AP carries that don't take farm. I personally run
bot, and at some point in the game (assuming equal grounds), I will be 1 shotting the ADC with a full rotation. That being said,
do make things a lot harder for me though lately.
Don't leave
off of this list, killing an adc in one double bomb is always pretty satisfying.
I am in love with you
I love Zyra players
Doesn't matter how good or bad you play her, I still appreciate you
My favorite is going mid against yasuo or fizz. The zoning is just too much for them.
I love lanning against Yasuo in mid lane with Zyra, they don't see the rise of the bursty thorns
Shhh, don't say anything. I want them to keep picking
into
.
mandatory =/= strength
ADC's have repeatedly been the weakest thing in the game. The meta rolls in cycles.
The thing is, there are still turrets, dragons, and barons. There is still a need for sustained physical damage.
This is like saying Junglers are OP because they are mandatory.
there are 3 types of junglers.
wait wrong there are 4 recognized types of junglers.
assasins
bruisers
tanks
and ap mages

those who apear once are fine balance wise or on the weak side those who apear twice have flexible kits and are on the strong side those who apear thrice will always have balance issues with their kits either utterly broken or utterly crap those who apear 4 times are item breakers
I'm confused at why you don't have
in all 4 catagories, tbh.
seji abused a overpowered as fuk item she didn't break it, she and other tanks like
all abused it. fuk everyone was using it assasins bruisers ap mages you name it.
udyr used an item that on its intended champ pool did more or less ok took it and utterly broke the game there is a difference here.
Do you really think you can compare Sej's damage to champs like Rengar, Nidalee, Fid, Diana or even someone like Shyvana?
Her damage is good for a tank, on the scale of every jungler it's not. You could probably justify her as a tank and a bruiser, but she's sure as hell not doing damage comparable to a mage or assassin.

Build AP on her and she most certainly does do damage comparable to a mage or assassin. I wouldn't recommend it over build her tank but AP Sejuani still definitely works.
I can build Luden's Echo on Ashe and my Arrow's going to hit like a truck, that doesn't mean it makes up for the massive amounts of flaws in the build.
If you're building AP Sej you probably do some damage, but the flaws are just too great to justify it. She's not going to fill the role of a mage or an assassin better than someone like Diana, so why would you?
