I just realized how good Amumu's passive can potentially be.

It reduces the enemy's magic resist by 25 for 3 seconds on-hit in the lategame. This means that this passive alone makes your average marksman without MR investment only 5 MR away from being dealt true damage. Get yourself Sorcerer's Boots, Liandry's, Void Staff, Runes and Masteries on top of that and you will likely deal true damage to them or get their MR value really close to 0 if they have MR runes and maybe a QSS. Only a Banshee's, a GA or a Maw would really save them from it.

Gonna try this tomorrow. Shame I didn't do it with the old Abyssal Scepter.

Yeah, Amumu is already built this way most of the times. Either he is built full tank to give his team more durability or he goes the standard AP Bruiser Amumu build where you land a Q, get in the middle of their team, and then the game gets really violent and filled with death. Rylai's, Liandry's, and Abyssal are huge option items for him. Void Staff I'm not sure about, but everything else is a definite option.

I've tried Void Staff on him a few times against teams with multiple fighters/tanks. It honestly wasn't that bad, though it left me feeling a little squishy.

I believe my build was along the lines of: item 3047 item 1401 item 3151 item 3110 item 3065 item 3135

Unless they have changed the interaction since I last checked, the attack speed slow on Frozen Heart was sufficient to amplify the damage dealt by Liandry's Torment's passive.

On Frozen Heart: I believe they adjusted this a while back, stating that it was unintended.

Rylai on his W will amplify Liandry's. With something to increase movespeed additionally, he would have little issue merely walking beside most champions, countering mobility with his Q.

It doesn't matter what you do, just spam Amumu to climb. I'm not being salty about him or anything, he is just a honest to god reliable pick regardless.

People used to run AP-ish Amumu with penetration and Sorc boots back on Dominion. He used to be a high tier pick at top. No AD squishy can really deal with him and he can completely ruin a team with his ult.
