What kind of advice is "don't feed"?

PopcornBunni··2 votes·1,101 views

Because I sure would like to improve and this kind of shit statement doesn't help in that regard.

"Don't overextend" is advice

"Freeze and position to be able to move back to tower" is advice

"Don't engage without X Y or Z condition" is advice

"Call for ganks when the enemy is extended" is advice

"don't feed" is an overly vague statement that seems to be spouted exclusively by bronzes and unranked toward other bronzes and unranked players in lieu of acknowledging their own mistakes in play.

Well, every time you opt in for thirty seconds of Spectator Mode, your team loses map pressure, objective pressure, you can't CS, their team can CS more freely, your killer gets 300G (+bounty), you can't help in team fights while dead, etc.

Seriously. Every death gives them so much.

So take that advice.

Don't feed.

tell me how does one not feed? how does one actually prevent that from happening? saying "don't feed" literally doesn't tell you anything. You might as well say "the sky is blue today"... you don't say?

Yeah but once you are already feeding its too late to say that anyways, often you die under turret from then on. The point is dont feed, but whats the point of saying "stop feed" after you are already in a position where you cannot prevent dying unless you go to your fountain and chill. Something immobile adcs have to deal with very often, but other roles too. Saying "stop feed", its already too late, for whatever reason feeding occured.

Telling someone not to feed isn't necessarily trying to give them advice, though. It's more of a friendly reminder that it's better to play safe and lose the lane than to feed.

Trying to teach someone how to play without feeding can't happen while you're in game. The best you've got is "hey, remember not to feed."

It isn't advice at all.

But who has time to explain the ramifications of your champion dying to an enemy?

Who has time to explain that on top of kill gold and kill exp, while your champion is dead, the enemy is gaining additional gold and exp from farm?

Who has time to explain that the amount of time your champion spends dead is gold and exp lost for your team?

Who has time to explain that whenever your champion is dead, the enemy team likely has a numbers advantage over yours, allowing them to win team fights and secure objectives?

Who has the time to say, "Do your best to avoid dying by placing down vision and waiting for help from your allies so none of the bad things I just listed happen to you"?

Well thats the problem right there OP, you think "Don't Feed" is advice when its not. What they are in fact telling you is not to feed.

Even if you are bad at a champ and in a bad matchup its actually quite easy not to feed. You ward up where the enemy can gank you from and farm under tower. The lower your elo the easier this is to do however time and time again when i see people who are behind constantly die in their lane they are either dying in the middle of their lane when they should be at their tower or do not back away from their tower then they are getting 4 manned ganked. When people sat "don't feed" its not advice, its literally do not feed.

I can accept someone going 0/3 far more then someone going 0/10 and it makes no sense to me how people are hitting double digit deaths in this game.

It means: "Stop rushing IE as your first item on GP when you're 0/6 against a Riven who is now fighting our team 1v5."

Projecting?

When I'm behind I try and build defensive to stall for time.

Maybe. :o

It's just really irritating to see someone feed uncontrollably, and then build in such a way that they die one second into every fight.
