Suggestion: Make it so we can trade skin shards for a skin shard of the same value?

I think this would be a good idea and make the random earned skins thing a lot more appealing/valuable. For example, I got a skin shard for cosmic blade master yi, looks good, its 1350 RP, only thing is though - I don't play yi. I'd love to be able to do something such as trade the skin for a Praetorian Fiddlesticks skinshard, for that skin is also 1350 RP, and I'd still have to use earned orange essence to unlock it permanently.

Would the developers ever consider this? I hope to get a red post. The ability to earn skin shards is already a great feature, I just think it could be better if we could perhaps trade a shard we don't want for a shard we do want.

It's not like Riot would lose money or anything, you'd get the exact same amount of free stuff... you'd just be able to turn that free stuff into free stuff that you actually want?

the thing is that they justify lootboxes like hextech giving skin shards for free is that you rarely get skin shards of things you actually want so you actually have to buy that. So you get free skin shards but you can't choose them.

The problem with your suggestion is that it undermines people who are buying skins, the RNG is there for necessity and makes it so when you finally do get a nice skin it feels much more better. The only real issue with the system is how rare Orange Essences are.
