Why can we still not see skins ingame?

It's 2019, and there is still no way to see a skin ingame before you buy it. You have to just google it up before you buy the skin. Why? I can see my ward ingame models, but not my skins unless I buy said skin, or look it up? Make it so people can see the skins ingame, I refuse to buy a skin just because it's anime art looks cool.

Many of you seem to be missing the point. I don't care that I can try any skin I want on the PBE. The point is that when you browse skins in the shop you should be able to see what it looks like ingame, without going on the PBE or looking it up.

This is a horrible market strategy. Who buys a skin without any clue of what it looks like ingame? Does Riot not like money?

Dont give riot any idea, they might fuck up Skin Spotlight's system building their own like they did the camera tools.

I actually don't understand this either. I can look at chromas but not vanilla skins? Makes no sense.

Because then no one would buy BM Aatrox or Prestige skins

Because why should Riot bother if 3rd party YouTube channels do the work for them?

Well, skins are more complicated to look at than wards tbh.

Wards are always facing the same way, while skins have 360 degrees to them.

They probably also assume everyone will check Skin Spotlights to preview them.

To everyone that says, "well you can go to ABC to look it up" or "it might be too hard or mess things up" are perpetuating Riot's laziness to fix things on their client. Look at Dota2, Smite, HOTS, hell I even think Paragon had it as well. When you make excuses for a company that can't meet the standards of its competitors, then you are only hurting the company you support and yourself. This should very well be in the game by now

You know, there is a server called pbe where you can get any skin you want and try it in game. Since you play at NA you shouldn't even have ping, so go try it.

To think HotS beats League in this regard is shameful. It's a matter of common sense. If you've got this many skins, why the hell do you not have a way to try them in game before buying?

Look at Smite...you can test out any available skin in the "practise tool" Why cant i do something similiar in LOL ? Will Riot lose money or smth?

Weiss Guertena4/29/2019, 6:13:32 PM1 votes

I don't get it why they don't just make every skin available in practice mode. What, are they afraid people will get their fix of fancy new skins while beating up straw dummies and continue playing the actual game satisfied with default skins? Or, more likely, they just don't want to lose the profits from people being mislead into buying a shitty skin with a superior splash art. coughGrimReaperKarthusWhoLooksNothingLikeAGrimReaperInGamecough

Because it doesn't make money. Making a "Magical Cat" support champion does, as pulling out 9 skins per patch.
