Oldschool LoL player about 6th season. Old League is gone, so should players leave it too?

I want to write post about my brother. He reached D1 in 4th season and I think he was D3 in 5th season. Now he's sitting in P1 and doesn't really believe that he can climb higher.

First of all I'll write all his mains he was playing mostly: AP Yi, Ap Trynd, Mordekaiser, Yorik, GP-tankplank, Vladimir and Swain. As you see, they're all old and now reworked (except Trynd, he was simply nerfed to unplayability). What should feel player when every champion that he loved are gone? I personally feel like Riots were persuing him all this time, nerfing his mains, buffing their counters (Riven, Irelia, Yasuo), and then reworked them and later nerfed them to the ground. My brother was like "Wow, ALL tanky casters are gone, what should I play now?".

I think that all players, like my brother, won't be grateful for that. You killed all of their champions. One by one. I'm ok with that - it's yours game anyway, but what the point to play right now? It's like you (Riots) don't want my brother to play LoL. It's ok, again, it's yours game, but old players could get some respect.

I doubt riot cares if your brother plays or not

I basically started in Season 2 and have been following the game almost every week. A few breaks have happened, and downtime from playing too.

LoL, to me, is a game of change and adapting..... Finding the meta, patches, finding the new meta. Whatever. The game is the same in that regard. I like it but I get tired also.

Anyway. Yeah patch 2.11 or 3.03 or 4.19 (etc, the numbers are arbitrary) is gone but the game is moving forward as it seems to always have, so I don't feel like leaving. I dunno.

With the exception of Mordekaiser, Vlad, and Swain, all of those other champions have been hugely cancerous within the past few years, and their much needed reworks and nerfs have made them actually require skill to play rather than a keyboard with big buttons and firm face muscles. Tanky casters are not gone, they've just been changed. Vlad and Swain still exist, they just have better kits now. Other casters have popped up, such as Aurelion Sol and Lissandra, who both tend to want to build on the tanky side due to how their kits function. Your brother seems upset that his faceroll champs have been caught and changed. What I'd recommend is having him invest some time into some champs he likes to play and developing skills with those champs.
