Ive never had an issue vs quinn as darius until edge of night

Not sure where all the quinn QQ is coming in from, but until edge of night existed, I NEVER had an issue facing quinn. Smart apprehend timings lead to incredibly favorable trades, and late game randuins means post apprehend she has pretty much no way of reliably disengaging because of the four second slow.

The only reason I have an issue with her now is because she can build an ad/armor pen item and also get a spammable spell shield to consistently cock block apprehend.

Hate on quinn all u want guys, but I dont see a problem with her as a darius main, my beef is with edge of night.

i have no clue how you get to late game against quinn as darius, cause in master it's impossible to lane against her

but worry not, everyone is 1st banning her now so i don't get to deal with her

Yeah whatever. And there are darius mains higher than yourself in challenger like dystrex and TNM who can handle quinn. The problem is that the second she gets EoN is when she loses all counterplay and darius cant do anything.

TNM can handle her? i would be happy if he tells me how when she AA you to death procing thunderlord chunks you for a lot of damage, then press E+AA+QQ+AA if you hook her

tell me son

Interesting extrapolation, though it is erroneous.

Why tf is your FEK icon sona with her arm looking like "Nasty ass bitch"

lol that irony coming from the mispelling of "sense." Makes it even more harsh to the person you're trying to mock.

Why is your icon for the boards a picture of Sona's arm, but it looks like she's disgusted at something and it just zoomed in on her arm is what I meant to say lol.

Quinn is a massive problem with this new lethality build period my friend, while I respect your confidence, getting countered top lane is getting countered, the active on edge of night is actually very intuitive and I love it, the only problem is that the charge up should definitely be more telegraphed to help out the opponent if it is used in your face rather than hidden like an assassin would do in a real teamfight. The real problem is this lethality bullshit where quinn destroys any squishy in 1.5 seconds with no counter play at all besides stacking armor.

I just hope that when they inevitably nerf her, they will consider her other builds/lanes which are not nearly as strong, rather than just blanket nerfing her.

Xonra1 votes

Honestly I would be fine with them changing her further than they previously did. She was before a bad adc that had to play niche to work, and what they did with her was push her further into niche to the point of her not being great outside of counter cheese, and not an actual good pick outside of that.

I have no hate towards her nor love, but I hate seeing a champ that is "you going against melee that isn't mobile? Whelp guess I win as Quinn. You Going against...not that? Why the hell are you picking Quinn?"

Leonerdo2 votes

Yeah pretty much. The problem is her Vault will always be really good against melee, and it's one of the things Quinn players (myself included) would not be happy to see gone. Finding something else to bridge the gap between her melee/ranged lane match-ups is a tall order. I'd say her blind is more useful against ranged champs and could be buffed, but when Riot nerfed it before, they said it was because the blind was oppressive vs. melee. So I don't know.

At the very least, they could make her passive scale off of Crit to give her a reason to try to be a more traditional marksman.

Jihyobda1 votes

Her passive cooldown is reduced by crit, in fact i prefer crit over lethality usually but now lethality is broken

Hunted90001 votes

They can't nerf quinn off this as far as I see it because without the build she is mediocre and nerfing her would just put her in the dirt without the build. I'm hoping with the tank rework they weaken the lethality items in some way because talon is also a problem I'm seeing is becoming bigger.... people have been building trinity force on him and it is disgusting.

Quinn is a massive problem with this new lethality build period my friend,

You could do the same thing with the three old armor pen items. Nothing has changed.

Except instead of Maw's damage shield and higher magic resist, you have lower magic resist and a spellblock. The later is arguably more useful for an assassin who is usually more concerned with blocking an initial CC than just surviving more damage.

The real problem is this lethality bullshit where quinn destroys any squishy in 1.5 seconds with no counter play at all besides stacking armor.

If you don't build armor, then that's what armor pen always did. The counter is suppose to be building armor or health. That is the counterplay. Don't whine if you keep dying to max armorpen without building defense to offset it.

I didn't feel suffocated with the damage then though, when I saw a quinn coming for me I had the option to fight if I'm also someone with a lot of burst but now it's impossible and that's what makes this broken when riot reworked all assassins to add "counter play"

Your feelings are subjective and inaccurate. Mathematically there's almost no difference in burst damage output with three lethality items vs the old armor pen items. There's a bit less base damage, a less bursty active on duskblade, and the armor pen values are worse prior to level 9. The only real difference is that at level 18 you have 10 more armor pen than you use to, but that's not enough to account for all this anti-lethality angst. Especially since armor pen always use to suck late game, and all this change has done is help it to not fall off as hard with player's base armor scaling and itemization.

If you want to complain about spellshield that is a separate issue - but don't mistakenly think that lethality is higher burst damage and that's somehow your problem. Quinn could accomplish the same thing prior to lethality if she built armor pen. You may not have seen as many players go full armor pen, but they could have.

Hunted90001 votes

So what you are saying is that quinn with duskblade first item could 2 hit a squishy as she can with duskblade now? I think not...

So what you are saying is that quinn with duskblade first item could 2 hit a squishy as she can with duskblade now? I think not...

You're exaggerating. Quinn isn't 2 hitting anyone with only a single item. Go get some math to back up your claims.

As for your question: This is simple math:

Old Duskblade: 75 Attack Damage 10 Armor Penetration Passive damage: 90 Damage plus 25% of their missing health.

New Duskblade: 65 Attack Damage 15 Lethality (which is equal to 10 armor pen at level 9, less than 10 prior to 9, and progressive more after 9). Passive damage: 105 true damage on your first hit, but only if you attack from unseen. (This might do more damage if your lethality runes and masteries count towards the bonus damage, but I'm not sure if it only counts item lethality).

Now, tell us, what about the new Duskblade makes it so much better than the old one that Quinns damage is suddenly unbearably oppressive when that is all you have?

I can answer for you: There is nothing. The old duskblade would actually have done more damage as a first item than the new one. Higher armor pen value. More attack damage. A more damaging passive (with the only downside being that you can't use it as often).

I don't mind Quinn either

It's definitely edge of night's low cooldown that's the problem. Quinn was fine before.

Except the stats aren't optimal on darius, so I lose out by building it.

Champions like quinn who abuse edge of night get all the stats thy prioritize, lethality and AD, and a nice little bit of MR.

For juggernauts it's all about health, AD, and resistances.

You have the right idea, and here are some other suggestions I made to another player who had once asked me for advice on Quinn vs Darius .

I've been a Darius vs aQuinn a number of times, and I've found that her attack range is actually low enough that if you can aim it right, you can pull her in with your E. Now, this is if she doesn't save her E (Vault) or blind for that type of contingency. IF you can get her, you can go to town on her provided she doesn't blind you or use her Vault to get away from you.

Overall in a lot of those situations, I've learned I may have to try and "Outlast" my opponent rather than win lane outright. Of course, "Outlasting" only works if your team-mates can win lane to make up for your lack of presence.
