Is it worth to play ranked right now?
Say I got to plat before Season 6 started. Would the game recognize that and give me a higher chance to be placed higher?

Deep Terror Nami3 votesThe rank you hold doesn't necessarily matter, but what you get your MMR to. Generally if you rank up you'll have higher MMR though.
Your placement will be based on your MMR, which is why some people will place further from their old rank than someone else that had the same rank and placement wins.
TL;DR - Yes you can get a better placement.
