Irelia is the best Bruiser in game, she can fight ranged champs and is strong vs melee

She has hard CC which can be a slow, she has magic, physical, and true damage, she has a near instant gap closer to get in range of an enemy, she has great sustain, and she has built in tenacity.

Darius may be her hardest counter but he has trouble against her past level 7 as she has one of the highest spikes in the game, she can also deal more true damage than Darius in an extended duel.

She is the best Bruiser, she brings a TON to the table, what if every other bruiser was similar in being able to fight ranged AND melee effectively like Irelia, what would happen to this game?

Darius does not have trouble against her in 1v1 situations in any stage of the game.

Nasus is another good pick because she is very attack speed dependent for her damage and isn't really strong enough early game to bully him away from CS before he can get a good number of stacks. Irelia doesn't build armor penetration either, so Frozen Heart, Randuin's Omen, and health items can drastically reduce her damage.

Irelia is good against the ranged meta that's currently a big thing in top lane, as well as bursting carries mid game. I'd say her hard counters (Darius and Nasus) make it a bit of like a Rock paper sissors thing. Irelia is Sissors, ranged is paper, and Darius/ Nasus are rock. (although as far as Nasus is concerned, I'm not sure it's even possible to poke him out of lane anymore)
