Sion passive needs a buff and the mage update gave me an idea

Ok so this is his current passive.

Glory in death Upon taking fatal damage, Sion briefly becomes untargetable then enters a frenzy, restoring himself to 100% of his maximum health but losing 2 - 19 (based on level) health every 0.25 seconds, increasing by 1.4 - 13.3 (based on level) per subsequent tick.

Sion can freely move and use basic attacks during this time, gaining 100% life steal, attacking at 1.75 attack speed and dealing 10% of his target's maximum health as bonus on-hit damage, capped at 75 against minions and monsters.

Sion cannot cast any of his standard abilities while in this state but can cast Death Surge using any learned ability.

Considering that Sion has to die to make use of the passive it could at least be more usefull and reliable. Early game its an ok passive, but as you level up you will last shorter and shorter. Level 1 sion can last like 6-7 seconds level 18 maybe 3-3,5 extra health will help a bit but not much.

It is also noteworthy that the passive is easily kited, a bit too easy. Many champions have slows and stuns and even more of them have a ton of mobility. Not to mention that pretty much every non tank item gives movementspeed these days, so after people get 2+ items they can simply walk away.

Here is 2 changes to make that passive alot better, and alot scarier.

  1. He doesnt die as fast as he currently does, later in the game by adjusting the scaling of the self damage debuff on his passive from 2 - 19 (based on level) health every 0.25 seconds, increasing by 1.4 - 13.3 (based on level) per subsequent tick. To 2 - 19 (based on level) health every 0.25 seconds, increasing by 1.4 - 8.4 (based on level) per subsequent tick.

Changing the damage increase per tick up to 6 times instead of 9.5 times will make him die just a little slower giving a bit of extra time ( roughly 1-1.5 seconds) to pummel his adversaries.

  1. This change is where the magic happens, so i saw Cassiopeia getting a ''grounded'' debuff which prohibits use of mobility and i though what if Sion could have this on his passive. It would not grant extra damage or movespeed, and no real extra killing power but it would make his passive much more scare and something enemies have to look out for. If they want to get away they will have to do it before Sion reaches them. The idea is that Sion in his frenzy keeps knocking the wind out of em. Every attack adds the grounded debuff for 0,75 seconds reduced by tenacity ofc. This forces his adversaries to think ahead a bit more and if they fail to get away they are going to pay the price, or have to use hard/soft cc.

This would really help Sion out, and make his passive at least more reliable, right now it often does nothing people just walk away or simply dash away once you get to them. At least now they will have to be more carefull because you get about a second more time to reach them and pummel them and when you do getting away wont be as easy. Turning his passive into something scary.

And then there is a little extra idea i just came up with from seeing mecha zero Sion skin passive, after it reaches 0 hp it blows up. What if this was an actual thing added to Sions passive where he blows up (his soulfurnace explodes) and deals a % of his max hp as aoe damage.

Just come crazy ideas to make Sion's passive great again.

I'm just gonna build hextech protobelt on him instead because he can use item actives during his passive. It gives health and a dash, what more could I want?

I had the same idea ^^

However i think its kind of sad when you need to itemize to make the passive do anyhting at all post level 6
