That champions are allowed to oneshot entire teams with little to no counterplay. But you rework assasins instead because they oneshot 1 person at a time. really dont get you sometimes shit like

you are aware, that the counterplay to illaoi is to
a) not let her slowly walk straight into the middle of your team to get into a good position to ult
b) simply walk away from her when she ults
the phase where illaoi is actually strong is only during the lane phase, where she can be long enough in one place to set up a nest of tentacles against certain melee champions.
come mid to lategame, when the game changes to roaming and macro play, and she doesnt have the time to generate tentacles around her before she has to move, she falls off like a rock.

she still needs to walk up into your frontline before she can flash into a position where her ult is effective. yes, it is a 5v5 scenario. means you have 4 other people around you who can stop her from getting too close.

and she isnt a tank. shes usually not even as beefy as one. she just tends to stack a mix of health and ad, which doesnt make her too hard to take down.
you can also interrupt her ult animation and her w animation, which will prevent her tentacles from attacking.
she has plenty of counterplay in a teamfight scenario.
if your team is getting smashed by an illaoi in a teamfight scenario then youre playing it wrong.
