Yasuo's output potential isn't really justified by his high input rate

I mean i get that you have to do a lot of button pressing, and it's on you to not make a mistake when playing him, else you get punished. After all, most champions aren't really capable of forcing a favorable trade on yasuo unless he does make a mistake, so they're just waiting around until he does make one.

Yet, that really doesn't justify why the champion is given such high power and impact in the game. (Impact, you know that term which is really just a sugar coated way to say "overloaded") If the champion was fun to play, he could have little impact and you'd still see people playing him because he had a fun kit. As it stands, giving him so much power simply makes him unnecessarily attractive to try hards that want to play something that's over powered (in the sense of above average power) for the sake of it being powerful.

There are much better champions for this label to be on, and generally in the past it's determined by popularity, say a streamer gets popular playing the champion or it's used as a niche pick in the LCS. Yet the blatant power advantage for cost that the yasuo gets is just poor game design.

He is by no means the only champion who falls into this description either, lucian, lee sin, thresh, the list goes on. There is just really no reason to make these champions so blatantly powerful compared to the rest of the positions or roles they fill.

saw a post awhile back that basically said: remove double crit passive and instead give him 1% increased crit damage per 2% crit chance instead. Would mean he has to buy a lot of crit to do a lot of damage rather than buy 2 crit items then go tank and be cancerous.

I think the problem is (wow am a genius ) that he is a lane bully. he always was and still is. and thats a problem. he scales too well simply put for him to be a lane bully. hes a worse lane bully than caitlyn bot lane. you can't simply deal with an evenly skilled yasuo in lane. you have to give up cs.

How the hell is Yasuo gonna make a mistake in lane? Unless he stupidly burns his Wind Wall or overextends with E's, there's not much for him to mess up, besides minion aggro and trading patterns.

If Yasuo's mobility is fking you, try engaging on him in/behind his minions. If he's not near your minions, he has almost 0 mobility. Dodge his Q's. This is actually not that hard, especially if you have mobility. It gets harder later on, because I think the cast time goes down (which is dumb), but early on it is completely possible to dodge Yasuo's Q's. Dodge his E+Q. This can be done by walking into him - this one is more of a Yasuo fking up part, but for a Yasuo who's used to E+third Q'ing for a 'guaranteed' hit, he'll be fucked pretty hard if you juke it this way.

Pretty much every toplane bruiser can force a favorable trade on Yasuo post lvl 3.

Yeah, now if only i knew that i was against a yasuo in mid lane, before the game started and before i picked my champion, so i could just decide to go a top lane bruiser in the mid lane.

Yet as MunchCrunchLunch said

There's probably a couple mid match ups where Yas needs to play really well, where the odds are stacked against him.

Yet as MunchCrunchLunch said

As far as top lane goes, that's not true. Also... if you're playing a simpler champion who doesn't require as much skill... a Yasuo who is playing better than you should beat you, because you've already capped out in terms of skill to effectiveness.

However, a shit Garen vs a shit Yasuo, Yasuo loses every time. Same for a shit Annie.

Yeah, probably, but it never really happens so this is conjecture.

You uh miss the title and the OP buddy?

P.S. If it's not clear, Yes, I'm mocking you.

I don't get what Yasuo's input rate as anything to do with anything, though, except that it implies more mechanical intensity.

This input complexity which you claim he has over champions like garen and annie, is a result of simply having a high input rate, aka low CDs.

What doesn't make sense is why despite those CDs being lower, they are equally powerful to many of the same cooldowns of a "simpler champion".

Also high input rate doesn't imply high mechanical intensity. Mechanics are things that happen in the game, so say there was a champion that casts an ability, then for the next 3 seconds it acts like one of those clicker tests (mash the button), where the more you tap the key the higher the damage. The mechanical intensity isn't any higher just because you're having to input at your maximum capable rate. Just as mousing over the enemy champion (like you normally do while fighting) and pressing your Q more doesn't mean you're playing a more mechanically intense champion.

You want a mechanically intense champion? Go play AD malzahar... well... before the disaster now known as the MYMU

Erh... they usually aren't, though. Yasuo's Q is a pseudo auto attack reset with ~100 bonus damage at max rank, which crits for less damage and is an AoE skillshot, with a knock up after 2 hits.

His W is strong but has a really long CD.

His E is simply a fairly low damage, mediocre range, targeted, set distance dash, which if it had a higher cooldown would make Yasuo almost completely worthless unless he was tanky enough to survive in between dashes.

Also high input rate doesn't imply high mechanical intensity. It implies mechanical intensity, I never said it directly correlates with it. Generally, if you hit a lot of buttons, you're doing a lot of things, and a lot of things means a lot of decisions to make/keep track of. Usually, anyway.

No idea what AD Malz used to be.

Here's a hint guys Yasuo actually has one of if not the worst mid game of any champion, as long as you didn't just run it down in lane.

How exactly are you defining "mid game", because when you say mid game i think ~2 complete items + boots, often the first few towers down, and pushing the 2nd - 3rd dragon spawn (depending on when the first was taken).

And last time i checked, that 2 item power spike was one of the strongest times for yasuo.
