Can we make some champions scale adaptively?
With the new runes introducing the Adaptive scalings through various means, and through the constant struggle that is balancing hybrid champions, there could be potential in changing champions to scale in a similar manner. The damage type (physical/magical) can also vary based on the scaling that is being used (AD does physical, AP does magical.)
A few potential candidates include:
; Her Q could be given an adaptive AD scaling, her ult as well, and swap her E to adaptive scaling; she retains the ability to build either AP or AD without just being gunblade > full AP.
; when he was first released he was practically a mage. Nowadays he's mostly played down bot lane through the use of his Q's AD scalings and on hit application. Through adaptive scaling he could be much more easily tuned between AD and AP builds, as well as being a good guinea pig anyway (he already built either AP or AD.)
; traditonally built AP, but her knives and ult both scale off of AD. It's possible, though maybe not necessary.
; One of those hybrid champions who still exist. Hybrid champions have been traditionally difficult to balance, but if they built either AP or AD, then it could be easier.
; One of the most liked things about Mordekaiser, past being the one and only Master of Metal Iron Revenant, is that he can build pretty much anything and make it work. Through adaptive scaling, AD Mordekaiser can feel better about building AD items since he won't end up dealing mostly magical damage anyway.
; one of the few champions who still builds both AD and AP as separate builds. If he scaled adaptively, he could be easier to balance in both.
Those are just a few examples; if possible I would like a Rioter's input, but that's a bit farfetched.
Not only could adaptive scalings help make it easier to balance some champions (akali and jax, for example), but also re-open off builds that don't work due to damage types.
