Enemy Akali Jungle bought Rylais in combination with Iceborn Gauntlet . . . yeah.

Not only do the slows of the two items not stack, the 500 Mana from Iceborn Gauntlet, so 700 gold in total, is wasted on Akali, since she's an energy champion . . .

If you want to try something new please make some theorycrafting beforehand and actually think about if it's going to work or not instead of just going "I'm going to do this since it looks fun right now."

Do you think the pros just randomly started picking tank Ekko back then because he was fun and they felt like it? No, they actually thought about it long and hard before coming to the conclusion that it's a good pick. If you do that, you'll have more success than that Akali did.

there's nothing stupid about getting gauntlet on akali if you arent gonna pit it against something better for context

It gives you everything you'll need and helps her clear waves while being tankier. It gets the job done even if its not the best option. Theres a problem obviously but your oversimplified explanation doesnt really send the right message

Sunfires would be better. Or Dead Mans if you want the empowered auto, although Sunfires would do more damage I think.

Maybe the purpose was for the 20% CDR? Maybe the Armor? Maybe the player didn't mind which slow but wanted a Sheen proc of some kind? I genuinely believe that the concept of the build, although it doesn't utilize or optimize the items in its fullest it does still have its own means of effect.

I could run Rylais on Garen (and have) and find a use out of it from a single effect. Not all players just try something to try it or because it's a flavor of the month. And there's far worse the player could've done. It's not like that was an Ultimate Bravery Akali build.

Idk, i think the 20% cdr + sheen + armor is a good tradeoff for the 500 useless mana, along with the slow. I guess i understand the idea behind the Rylies with it? maybe they cant exactly get in auto range easily or something.

I understand the idea, maybe the execution was ass.
