Riot, please fix your matchmaking for season 7.

If I don't see anything in preseason about matchmaking being addressed, I will not continue to play.

Every other season has been a relatively consistent experience. Regardless of how broken one item or champion was compared to others, you still got a relatively consistent experience.

Season 6 came around with Dynamic Queue, and ever since you widened MMR gaps its been nothing but a clusterfuck. Any time I feel like playing this game, I often regret it because one side can always rely on their teammates far more than the other, and it makes the game feel so lopsided, whether its for or against you. Its simply not fun.

Seriously, this season is horrendous. Fix the matchmaking or people will stop playing this game.

i started this season and got placed silver V which was bad but honestly i had no complaints because i knew i could climb higher and so i did making it to my silver 4 promos and winning them skipping myself to silver 3 but now every since i got to silver 3 literally every single team and i mean EVERY single team has been either toxic and or not even close to my elo so i have no been on a losing streak going all the way from silver 3 back down to silver 5, i dont understand why the matchmaking is so brutal right now but i seriously cant enjoy the game because i dont ever win anything anymore regardless of how well i play due to the toxic and low elo players im being matched up with

exactly the same here it's usually me getting matched with golds and silver opponents and bronze team mates im bronze 3 and then as soon as someone does or a few deaths happen early they give up and the best thing is most of the time it's the players who have late game champs. when you vs opponents lower then you you can learn just as much as if they are better am I the only person who thinks this ?

As I said to other people, yes this might be an issue, but it's also a positive experience.

If you're playing in norms and you're going against higher ranked/lower ranked players, you can try and instead of being like, "Wow we're against a diamond 1 gg mm is messed up I quitting league right now" (NOT saying that this is you in particular) instead of doing that, you can be positive and take into account that if you watched his playstyle while you are walking to lane or whatever, maybe you can find a way to learn from the way that diamond 1 plays and incorporate it into your own plays.

In ranked, same thing as above. Flex queue is practically dynamic queue and no one will be playing it once soloq is out (not no one, but a lot of people are just gonna be playing that) and so flex won't really matter. So for now, just enjoy it and be positive :).

If you're the low MMR player, yeah, it could help you grow.

However, most of the time you aren't the low MMR players, and someone on the enemy team gets fed off that person, or someone on your team gets fed if the low MMR player is on the other side.

It makes matches extremely swingy, and with how shit the balancing has been the past few seasons in regards to tankiness vs utility vs damage, that has an extremely significant effect on the enjoyment of the game.

You just need to relax mate. Not even trying to be mean about it, but it's preseason. Flex ranked is gonna be null once solo/duo comes out!

So enjoy it. Take this preseason time to improve so that when season 7 comes out, you can have some good placement matches :).

And about the balancing issue, every champion/item has counterplay to it, some might be not as prevalent, other are.

You just need to find out how to counterplay what, ya know?

This post was made two months ago. Flex has nothing to do with it.

MMR will still be an issue if the margin stays as wide as it is. It will be nowhere near the original solo/duo experience because of that.

Having counterplay doesn't mean its effective counterplay. Riot does not balance this game properly, and you haven't been here long enough to comment on it if you think they do.

OH HAHA WTF.

I was just scouring through the recent tab on gameplay and saw it, thought it was a new post. Now I'm confused.

Having counterplay is counterplay itself, it might not be effective but you can't perfect balancing. It's legitimately impossible, as nothing can be perfect. But as long as it HAS counterplay, it can be used against itself. I've played for long enough to understand that everything has counterplay, and that you can always win an unfavorable matchup no matter what. As long as you have the skill and experience to back it up.

"As long as you have the skill and experience to back it up" only applies up to a certain point.

People punish much, much harder the higher you go, and it really shows many of the issues that have come up the past few seasons.

MMR is now a larger issue than Riot's balancing, however.

Currently the MMR system is really messed up, I agree. I'm confused about how it got this way, but take it as a positive experience I said before :).

It doesn't apply up to a certain point though, because if you DO have the skill/experience to back up the counterplay of the thing that supposedly has none, it'll show that you just need to do this specific thing in order to beat the unfavorable matchup or whatever.

EDIT - But yes, nothing is ever going to be perfect unfortunately. So for now we'll have to take what we can and learn from it

yeah but there is only so much someone like me can learn im currently bronze three in flex and constantly get matched with gold and silver players just watching doesn't improve actually playing the game does and when thier skill level is so high above yours it's hard to actually learn to improve on your game mechanics because of the difference same thing as my placements form solo/duo playing against players who are worse then you is also just as good for improving. and when you are in Bronze and trying to get out but keep being matched with bronze vsing silvers and golds if your team gives up you can't carry against your opponents the current match making system is only going to help players who are already good at the game not people who have been here for a season or less and it need to be fixed adleast in the lower elos to make it fair on people who try to play but keep getting the same bronze responses. but what do I know I'm bronze three wouldn't have any idea of what should happen

Play solo instead of Flex. Problem fixed :)

i have been almost through placements so hopefully after it will be good :)

Yea this is straight bullshit, I can't play draft pick in normals so I go blind pick, get to champ select and everyone spams their roles and instalocks, usually there are ppl that dont even bother calling their role and instalock without saying, so I get to the actual game and around 1st blood everyone is like "GGEZ, LOL REKT, NOOB, KYS" and Im like wtf is going on (I am in G1 so i USUALLY played only with gold/plat players and they tend to not be that toxic) so we either totally loose or totally win and after game i find out that on my team theres me G1 some guy who is plat V and then there are bronze and silver V players.. WTF?

so far i played 5 games of solo queue and non if them had a big MMR difference between the teams

maybe im just lucky

TM06ASF1 votes

yes it's good to be against better players but when it's such a big gap as it is now it's fucked while team or bronze and understand ranked against 2 gold 5s and low silvers there is quite litlerly nothing you can do except try to improve your game play because your team gives up after the first 5 mins and even then there's only so much you can learn because they are so much better then you season 6 wasn't to bad but seven has been absolutely shit
