How can I stack 3 of Tahm Kench's passive when one of his two damaging skills IS Devour?

Just finished my first Tahm Kench game, and it felt really frustrating trying to Devour enemy champions. One Q and they start retreating, and I can't get close enough fast enough to swipe auto-attacks for procing Devour.

I won't be able to try Tahm until he becomes free to play.

Because he scales with Health, I would try Frozen Mallet.

I'm guessing that your playing him against ranged champs, other wise it shouldn't matter that much. But if they start retreating, use that opportunity to Zone them of Minion Farm and get a CS lead over your opponent. Just watch for Ganks or counter engage while your doing that. But never feel like you have to get the kill.

Devour is really ment more for your allies than enemies I feel the main use for it on an enemy is to take them out of the fight so you have one less person to worry about for a bit

That kind of makes sense, more of a defensive support, not really focusing on kill securing.

View Devour as a defensive cooldown meant primarily for your team mates. And in long drawn out fights it has the potential offensive benefits.

Also, the person you tag with your Q doesnt need to be the one you eat. You want to be in the middle of the enemy tagging anyone, and if anyone stays long enough to get hit 3 times, you eat them. If no one does, then you just forced their entire team to run away from you.

From what I've seen it's for prolonged fights only. Otherwise it is primarily to protect your carry. Or if you are top it's primarily to wave clear.
