The BIG problem with a lategame class in shorter games that is over protected and suported

Spoofghoul··46 votes·1,880 views

In case you didn't get it i'm talking about ADC/Marksmen in games that have been getting shorter and more snowbally over time

A bit of a rant coming next, trying to explain why we are in this stinkhole of a meta how this works and at the end giving some solutions

The problem is that if your class is supposed to get strong lategame as in 40 minutes have passed you managed to get yourself 3-4 items

Well when games are decided at 10 - 20 and and before 30 your class is irrelevant

Yet here we are with Marksmen in every game still, better yet often they not only pop up in bot lane but in other places as well Now we are stuck with a better botlane wins meta

Now we have also been in the adc2k17 lul meta people bitching about them being weak which was a complete fallacy because they were not, they simply didn't have enough impact in the first 10 minutes is a period where games where decided by that point

But as these things tend to go, people adapt to such situations and stretch the time it takes to decide games up along with some small scope changes which also do this and suddenly games are decided a little later. And now we are stuck with this toxic better ADC wins meta ( or whoever clownfiesta's the botlane most)

problem here is how ADC are relevant quite early in the game already whilst also being the strongest lategame class with some of the strongest defensive items available. But that isn't all they also get beefed up by their team with a wide array of tools to buff them and defend them, with he lifesteal on top they suddenly end up being the hardest to kill class in the game provided they can grab a small lead and snowball that

And that is why we are in this shitty meta

A lategame class being buffed over time to be more viable and impact full earlier through flat stat boost in items with price reductions on top You can not outscale them ever period, these boosts to stats don't go away in the lategame they made that part even stronger then before They are as relevant as you early on and with a small lead they will gain a permanent edge over you for the rest of the game One of the big offenders here is lifesteal and warlords, this scales directly with their damage output, warlords + vampirism + dorans blade + censer also allows the adc to forego the lifesteal altogether until later in the game Case in point, jhin healing for 1500hp and running around with over 700 movement because of a keystone is kinda dumb, whils being an extreme case he isnt the only one who can easily abuse this if can hit hard you can abuse it if you can charge it up fast you can abuse it and if you build crit you can abuse it

Their one major weakness, having no defenses has been completely removed items like this contribute a lot to it item 3046 item 3155 item 3812 item 3139 item 3072 item 3026 Don't forget about the stackable zeal items, both in effects as well as the stackable movement which allows the ranged marksmen to out walk melee champs.

However things like item 3190 item 3107 item 3504 item 3222 item 3109 item 3174 item 3050 item 3401 item 3301 line Make it really annoying, not only did Marksmen get enough defenses of their own to pick from everyone else is now allowed to pitch in too.

Once a small lead is established shit like this makes it near impossible to kill them yet you also cannot outdamage them nor can you stall to outscale them

and well if if by some miracle you could outscale because you had 5 superlategame scaling champs You cannot stall them item 3085 item 3087 item 3094 Shive with IE when it crits deals about 660 dmg to 5 minions and stacked with firecannon you can hit structures with it too with additional range Compare that to Sion who is only allowed to deal 180 damage to minions by standing still for 2 seconds

Somewhere Something has to give Because this is getting really stupid now

Ways to bypass early ''defense/sustain'' through masteries and items, mostly supportive items Helps catapult dps Outscales everything damage wise (this isnt really new) but even better then they used to Their main weaknesses being gone, mainly defense and early/midgame and to a lesser extend movement/mobility and waveclear

There is more to this, counters like assassins have been weakened with longer burst windows, tank damage has been gutted (yes there are a few outliers but this is mostly kit issues) as well has health and sustain int heir core items, pretty much olafing their midgame power

All in an attempt to keep them strong and viable in ever shorter games as well as increasing the support population to prevent queue time build up

And the end result is a complete loss of strategy due to shorter games and snowball as well as being stuck in this 1 strategy meta which consist of ''better'' botlane wins

A lategame class isn't bad in concept, but it only works in longer games which are not as snowball sensitive And even then they would still need weaknesses.

This used to be their earlygame and midgame, which is no longer the case And it also used to be their defense, again no longer the case

In earlier seasons they were still the most reliable damage carries but the sheer amount of bullshit shielding healing and buffing didn't exist back then and they had to rely on proper positioning and help from their team's KITS to survive, lifesteal wasn't as prevalent and not as much of an issue as it is now because they other defensive tools weren't there

Right now they have ridiculously potent defense steroids on their own in addition to ridiculous defense boosts from their team on top of stat buffs on top of more mobility and they can still use kiting positioning and have their team peel and block for them they can even waveclear better then the best wave clear mages if they wish too

The only way to fix this this to strip some power add in additional weaknesses and redistribute some support power

Personally i would change lifesteal to not scale with crit anymore as Marksmen have plenty of other defensive options as well as very potent protection from team

Make shields and heals from items partially scale with the receivers hp Allow for different effects on steroids for different champions, for example ardent censer could give melee champions a movement boost instead of an attack speed boost Or have different interactions with items like zekes by allowing mages to blow up the frost storm or melee to receive their own etc etc

these aren't huge changes but they will help a lot by allowing supports to support more then just their adc, which redistributes some power

The lifesteal no longer scaling with crit will also help a lot because it is a form of defense that scales directly with offense by tuning that down we weaken their sustain and make them more reliant on their team for protection which is fine imho because this is a team game after all

And i would change runaans into an energize item which no longer crits but rather applies 75% AD magic damage on secondary bolts and apply on hit effects twice once it fires these bolts

Then i would change the bonus movement on zeal items, basically remove it and put it on kircheis shard instead

And all the energize items would give bonus movement which ramps up alongside their energized charge and losing it upon losing these charges by attacking

Hopefully that would fix things

A late game or early game class in general was just unhealthy. Look at Pantheon for example. Whenever he's meta it's always a nightmare to deal with his early game. It's usually not that fun to play as him either since you're pressured to end games quick. Look at Kog'maw as an example for late game. Used to have no agency early game and just had to farm for late game and win. Super fun yayyy just right click minions and avoid Assassins to win.

Sure it's okay that some champions in a class are early game and some are late gsme. In fact should be better since it brings out strategy. Class power spikes cause problems like we are in this season. Marksmen had no agency early this season since games were decided too quickly. Now they have all the agency since they decide how the game goes. There needs be diversity within classes, not make them all the same. Then it just becomes "pick the champion with the best numbers." That's why we're seeing the same champions over and over again. It's more about numbers and less about strategy.

Edit: Correcting some spelling mistakes.

i for one actually really like champions that are late game or early game focused, i think it brings a healthy kind of risk/reward factor to the game. i always liked being able to play a champion and just focus on farming and playing as safe as i can until i get more into my items or playing hyper offensive and bullying the crap out of someone to try to shut them down early, but on the flip side if you cant play safe enough or if your bullying doesnt work youre gonna have a really hard time. it may just be me, and it may not be the most fun for everyone, but i actually always liked playing someone who quietly becomes a monster.

I agree. "Better botlane wins" is a frustrating meta. You can win mid hard (or jungle) - and try to roam bot to help yours: But ADCs spike so fast and so hard these days, that a 2 kill lead at bot can allow a good ADC to win 2v3s (even if the enemy mid/jungler has the same amount of kills).

It's a frustrating meta where mid / jungle / top feels powerless: Being meatshields for their ADC at best. Jungle items, junglers and jungle progression have been continuously nerfed. So have mages, AP itemization and not to mention the MR/level changes. While toplane bruisers are stuck in a hardpush meta where teleporting to another lane means giving away tower FB anytime post 6. And toplane tanks (other than Cho and even with basevalues as broken as those of Maokai) yet again can't decide games if their ADC is 2 kills behind.

It's all botlane right now - and more support items are getting buffed. It's sad too see how even top notch jungle streamers advice their viewers to just forget about playing jungle if they want to win.

Kowe The Ewok2 votes

Also: DPS Mages have been replaced by ADCs like Lucien in mid. Even Cassio has become a W-utility bot, after the introduction of Adaptive Helmet already screwed her, she's getting nerfed yet again on PBE... (Significantly worse early game with a 250AP breakpoint which means 3rd item +tear: Which is a far later AND far weaker "powerspike" than ADCs have)

Mouth Stuff1 votes

yea the only time i can really make a difference is when i go as someone like yasuo who's really good at dealing with adc's

FireDrizzle2 votes

A while ago I would say its a good time to nerf their lategame with adcs being much stronger earlier. But now adcs are draintanks without even building lifesteal they are broken after 2 crit items.

Riot's favouritism to marksmen this year is disgusting, marksmen fall in status enough for 1 mage to become a botlane pick and they get huge indirect buffs. How many marksmen have been allowed to become common mid picks now? And if only 1 mage becomes meta as botlane carryZiggs , how "weak" were adcs really?

Very Hard Engage2 votes

i just want the days to return where a charm or a hook on an adc means death for them.

namely no lifesteal, overshielding, and bull S support items,

literally didn't build BV AND GA, so now you die, thats how it should be.

your jayce got a huge 2/3rds chunk on an adc with his E + Q, too bad, ima just go do wolves instantly and be back to full hp.

Starcraft243ver2 votes

You liked the full poke composition ? :/

Very Hard Engage4 votes

skill shot > auto attack.

but draven/cait 1 shots are a thing.

but nidalee/jayce cant have it.

DuskDaUmbreon2 votes

Draven and Cait are literately incapable of one-shotting anything but a minion or someone who's 8+ levels behind.

Very Hard Engage1 votes

twitch has 70 (79 with runes) armor and 1902 health at level 18.

draven has 105 base ad, + 50 on Q, + 105% bonus AD.

so were on 105 AD. now his full build path item 3031 item 3094 item 3006 item 3036 item 3139 flex item of deaths dance / pd / ga whatever.

and red pot 30 AD + 50 on his Q.

so routinely draven ends up with 70 (inf edge) 80 (deaths dance) 50 (lord doms) 65 (merc scim)

totals 345 bonus AD, and 105 base AD.

so 345 x 1.0 for using a Q empowered auto attack. up to 690 damage. + 105 = 795.

  • 120 from rapid fire cannon

915

x 2.5 for crit

=

2287.5

ppppppfffffffftttttttttttttt

ignore half of twitches armor.... cuz balance. 39 armor equates to taking 72% damage. 2287.5 x .72 = 1647

so with build alone, he cant truly one shot.

but wait, we left out masteries, runes, and dragon, and baron. sooooo yes. draven can one shot nearly half the roster (assuming they dont attempt a counterbuild) and if they do, it turns into a 2 or 3 shot instead. wow counterplay! from incredibly skilful autoattacks! which recur every .7seconds!

now factor in he sold his boots for a second infinity edge..... cuz hes draven and hes out for blood.

NickMP2 votes

Your math is very wrong.

A critical Hit will not interact with Draven's Q bonus damage, or Rapid Firecannon, this places the hit at 1607 damage, and LDR only applies to bonus armor not base, and only ignores 35% not 50%, which places Twitch at roughly 76 armor, which comes out to 913 damage.

Additionally Draven's Axes take some time to land back down, and without capped CDR(The build you gave does NOT hit that point) Draven cannot have two axes up at will unless he was allowed to attack beforehand, so he'll have to use at least two auto attacks without an Axe, which will only deal 618 even if they do crit, and only 247 if they don't, and this build has 50% crit chance, so the example given is very prone to RNG.

PrinceOfStorms2 votes

And this is still way too much fucking damage when you consider that it's getting thrown out around every half second. If it's coming out every half second it shouldn't be more than a third of that.

Starcraft243ver1 votes

That's not the point.

The point was "are cait or draven able to OS ?", and the answer is no.

PrinceOfStorms1 votes

By that argument, no one can one shot (except maybe Syndra if you don't count using her other abilities to set up a 7 orb ult against a oneshot) unless they're 8 levels ahead. Getting killed in 1.5 seconds might as well be a OS though.

Starcraft243ver1 votes

Well, 1.5s to kill someone is achievable by most of the champion roaster, assassins, mages, fighters and ADC can kill a glass canon in 1.5s.

So basically you can say everybody can OS in this game except for wardens, control tanks and shielding supports.

Very Hard Engage1 votes

the issue with what you're saying, is that i've literally been crit for 2300 as the mid laner against cait and draven. and the only thing i didn't have is zhonyas.

these were in 50+ minute games and i thought it more important to have burst damage to make up for my ADC's complete lack of damage output.

they can absolutely pump out crits greater than 2k damage, and champions have less than 2k health.

they absolutely have additional ramping options regardless of my math. they are grossly over tuned.

2 auto attacks can not be played around or countered, regardless of how you feel.

PrinceOfStorms1 votes

Maybe not oneshotting, but killed in such a short time that it might as well be a oneshot because you get hit with three back to back 700 damage crits in about 2 seconds.

No meta adc builds death dance.

What the fuck.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

That's not quite true. Xayah does very well with it.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

It's a personal thing. I use it over Bloodthirster on her, because the last 10% CDR is great, and it allows you to heal on your E, which is arguably your strongest damage point.

I'm honestly not sure why it's not used that much. It should be the go-to for her. But it's not.

When we talk about League of Legends meta and balance, we talk about current trends and what is most popular. Not a build you default to because you like how it feels. Keep in mind the players who use these builds get payed based on whether they win or lose. So it's not like they'd just be like "well deaths dance is good on xayah, but fuck it, I don't really feel like putting food on the table tonight", so there must be a reason it isn't optimal.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

It may just not be done because nobody's thought of it. I was the one that started running Essence Reaver on Ashe, before any pro did. It could be that no pro-player has had the time to test it out on her yet. Or even thought of running it on her.

It could also be a tier thing. Bloodthirster may be better on her when you have a team to protect her and keep her alive, while Death's Dance may be better in YoloQ.

Draven does frequently.

Games being shorter and thus ADCs (and everyone) builds quicker would be fine, except they forget to do one thing:

Reduce the late game power of ADCs.

Kaìju1 votes

I think Shiv is the issue. ADCs aren't meant to have an early game damage option outside of playing a bully like Draven or Cait. And even then, the magic power spike is Shiv and IE. Shiv crits will chunk people. RFC being used on it isn't the problem, it's a symptom because it allows for faster charges. It probably wouldn't be as bad if RFC didn't stack faster. Shiv gives burst damage, AOE damage, and wave clear in one hit. Runaans gives all three but in several hits, much slower, and is harder to make use of since you have to be roughly in range of all three targets which is really dangerous, but Shiv can just crit off a minion and hit the enemy. And RFC only has a little burst for more range, no wave clear and no AOE. Shiv is the problem, it does too much damage. I'm not getting one shot by Vaynes with IE and RFC, I'm getting one shot by Vaynes with IE and Shiv.

Blue Moon Wolf1 votes

I found a sort of work around for top laners who are struggling. Going mid against assassin champs who literally go mid to avoid top lane match ups can make a world of difference, especially for the late game champs since that lane is built to let you level up faster, but its still really annoying that champs who need to wait till late game to get their power spike never reach it cause the early game snowball champs snowball so hard.

Fair point.

Yet here we are with Marksmen in every game still, better yet often they not only pop up in bot lane but in other places as well Now we are stuck with a better botlane wins meta

That meta's because 80% of the team is affected by botlane. 2 of them are literately the botlane champions, one is the jungler, who has an easier time getting kills off of the botlane than the tanky toplaner or the highly-mobile midlaner, and the last is the midlaner, who roams bot because top's tanky. If 80% of your team gets kills off of your lane, your success or failure will always be important.

Now we have also been in the adc2k17 lul meta people bitching about them being weak which was a complete fallacy because they were not, they simply didn't have enough impact in the first 10 minutes is a period where games where decided by that point

That, and they were jokes against everyone. Assassins killed them in fractions of seconds, they were unable to kill tanks (the class they're SUPPOSED to kill), and supports just walked away from them. They were literately irrelevant against everything but other marksmen and turrets.

But as these things tend to go, people adapt to such situations and stretch the time it takes to decide games up along with some small scope changes which also do this and suddenly games are decided a little later. And now we are stuck with this toxic better ADC wins meta ( or whoever clownfiesta's the botlane most)

What happened is Riot gave a small buff to the class as a whole. I already explained why botlane's so important right now.

problem here is how ADC are relevant quite early in the game already whilst also being the strongest lategame class with some of the strongest defensive items available. But that isn't all they also get beefed up by their team with a wide array of tools to buff them and defend them, with he lifesteal on top they suddenly end up being the hardest to kill class in the game provided they can grab a small lead and snowball that

Most of them are still irrelevant early game. They can't 1v1 at all before they have two items at the minimum (sustain and a Zeal item), and they're basically irrelevant against tanks until at least 4 items in (IE+Sustain+Zeal+Lord Dominik's) unless they get crazy-fed

And that is why we are in this shitty meta

Not the worst of metas, but that matter's up for debate.

A lategame class being buffed over time to be more viable and impact full earlier through flat stat boost in items with price reductions on top You can not outscale them ever period, these boosts to stats don't go away in the lategame they made that part even stronger then before

Veigar, Nasus, and Cho'gath say otherwise, as they can outscale anyone. Jax and Shyvana also say otherwise, since they have the strongest late-game there is. Syndra also says otherwise, since she can just press Q a couple times and then R to wipe them off the face of the planet.

They are as relevant as you early on and with a small lead they will gain a permanent edge over you for the rest of the game

We've already covered that they're irrelevant until two items in. And we've already covered that other champions outscale them.

One of the big offenders here is lifesteal and warlords, this scales directly with their damage output, warlords + vampirism + dorans blade + censer also allows the adc to forego the lifesteal altogether until later in the game

They're not able to let you forego it until later in the game. Unless, by that, you mean until your third item. But I know for a fact you don't, you mean until last item.

Case in point, jhin healing for 1500hp and running around with over 700 movement because of a keystone is kinda dumb, whils being an extreme case he isnt the only one who can easily abuse this if can hit hard you can abuse it if you can charge it up fast you can abuse it and if you build crit you can abuse it

Jhin is literately incapable of healing for that much. There is literately no possible build that allows that much healing.

Their one major weakness, having no defenses has been completely removed items like this contribute a lot to it item 3046 item 3155 item 3812 item 3139 item 3072 item 3026

Their one major weakness is that they automatically blow up in the presence of burst. I still have literately no problems one-shotting marksmen as an assassin or burst mage. Hell, I can even do it from a quarter-mile away as Lux. Just thrown an E, land a Q, and then press R in the right direction.

Bloodthirster has also been around for as long as I can remember. Death's Dance is also a fairly old item, and is rarely ever bought on marksm. Yet we still had the times when marksmen were useless.

And, with the exception of Bloodthirster/Death's Dance and Phantom Dancer (as the first two give sustain, and the second is a Zeal item), you can only devote a slot to one of those items, and it's always your last item. You have to buy IE, sustain, and either two Zeal items, or a Zeal item and Essence Reaver, and boots. That leaves one slot for an actually defensive item.

Don't forget about the stackable zeal items, both in effects as well as the stackable movement which allows the ranged marksmen to out walk melee champs.

All two of them they can buy, or one if they need Essence Reaver? Wow. Much stack. So power. Many amaze. Wow.

However things like item 3190 item 3107 item 3504 item 3222 item 3109 item 3174 item 3050 item 3401 item 3301 line Make it really annoying, not only did Marksmen get enough defenses of their own to pick from everyone else is now allowed to pitch in too.

So supports aren't allowed to keep marksmen alive?

Funny thing is that Coin's line and Zeke's do nothing to keep marksmen alive directly. You literately just entered every support item but Sightstone and Spellthief's line.

Once a small lead is established shit like this makes it near impossible to kill them yet you also cannot outdamage them nor can you stall to outscale them

We've covered this before. They lose to assassins or long-range burst, and there are quite a lot of champions that outscale them. One of whom can even become immune to auto attacks for a time!

and well if if by some miracle you could outscale because you had 5 superlategame scaling champs

Or, like, one that you've kept alive.

You cannot stall them item 3085 item 3087 item 3094

How are they getting three of those? They can only actually get two in any viable build. Unless they completely forego defensive items. In which case, good luck staying alive.

Shive with IE when it crits deals about 660 dmg to 5 minions and stacked with firecannon you can hit structures with it too with additional range

That's true. But 660 damage only on crits? That's not as much as you think it is. Especially since it's magic damage, and, therefore, cannot benefit from any armor pen the ADC has, and therefore won't do much to champions.

Compare that to Sion who is only allowed to deal 180 damage to minions by standing still for 2 seconds

Sion does WAY more than 180 damage to minions. A fully charged Q does more to minions than a turret shot does.

He also does it in a large AoE. That means he can hit an entire wave of minions. That's at least 1 more than Shiv can do in the smallest of waves (3 melees and 3 casters).

Somewhere Something has to give Because this is getting really stupid now

What is? The QQ threads?

Ways to bypass early ''defense/sustain'' through masteries and items, mostly supportive items

Nobody but a tank or someone against an assassin buys early defense. This isn't an ADC thing, this is an everybody thing.

Outscales everything damage wise (this isnt really new) but even better then they used to

No better than they used to. And there are still champs that outscale them. Jax is even meta, and outscales them!

Their main weaknesses being gone, mainly defense and early/midgame and to a lesser extend movement/mobility and waveclear

We've covered this bullshit.

There is more to this, counters like assassins have been weakened with longer burst windows, tank damage has been gutted (yes there are a few outliers but this is mostly kit issues) as well has health and sustain int heir core items, pretty much olafing their midgame power

Assassins required split-second reflexes to not die to as anyone. That was hardly fair to anyone but the assassin in question.

Tanks aren't supposed to have damage. They're meant to be meat shields with utility and CC. That's what their class is designed to be. Their health was reduced, but they got more defenses.

And the end result is a complete loss of strategy due to shorter games and snowball as well as being stuck in this 1 strategy meta which consist of ''better'' botlane wins

I've covered this already.

A lategame class isn't bad in concept, but it only works in longer games which are not as snowball sensitive And even then they would still need weaknesses.

This used to be their earlygame and midgame, which is no longer the case And it also used to be their defense, again no longer the case

It still is the case. ADCs are still laughable defensively.

Right now they have ridiculously potent defense steroids on their own in addition to ridiculous defense boosts from their team on top of stat buffs on top of more mobility and they can still use kiting positioning and have their team peel and block for them they can even waveclear better then the best wave clear mages if they wish too

I've covered that this is pure bullshit.

The only way to fix this this to strip some power add in additional weaknesses and redistribute some support power

Fix what? I've covered that you're wrong on almost every point already.

Personally i would change lifesteal to not scale with crit anymore as Marksmen have plenty of other defensive options as well as very potent protection from team

And thereby crippling them in low tier, where there is no such thing as your team protecting you. It'd also force ADCs to decide between building crit and killing tanks, or building lethality and lifesteal so they don't die.

Make shields and heals from items partially scale with the receivers hp

Not the worst of ideas. It'd make Raka's healing relevant on tanks.

Allow for different effects on steroids for different champions, for example ardent censer could give melee champions a movement boost instead of an attack speed boost

That would be nice, but it'd end up being a large mess of different effects.

Or have different interactions with items like zekes by allowing mages to blow up the frost storm or melee to receive their own etc etc

See above.

these aren't huge changes but they will help a lot by allowing supports to support more then just their adc, which redistributes some power

They already can. It's just not as important, because people tend to blow up the mage/assassin instantly, and the other two are too tanky for your heals/shields to matter much.

And i would change runaans into an energize item which no longer crits but rather applies 75% AD magic damage on secondary bolts and apply on hit effects twice once it fires these bolts

That'd be...what. Just no.

Then i would change the bonus movement on zeal items, basically remove it and put it on kircheis shard instead

So...double RFC and Shiv's MS bonus?

And all the energize items would give bonus movement which ramps up alongside their energized charge and losing it upon losing these charges by attacking

An interesting idea, I'll give you that much. Not sure if it'd be good, but it'd be interesting.

100% crit + 130% attack speed = 40% + 32.5% = 72.5% + 40% = 112.5% AD

70 + 70 + 80 + 5 in runes, ER IE and BT + base = 225 + 121 = 346 AD + 112.5% = 735.25 rounded up to 736

40% of ad from Warlords + 22% lifesteal

a crit against one target with 100 armour, 2000 max health at 50%

1380 rounded up + 250 of max health of enemy / 2 = 815 = 180 rounded up + 100% AD from warlords (I'm not sure how it interacts with his passive) so = 916 heal not even counting drag due to its randomness

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

100% crit? On Jhin? Unlikely. Nobody builds for 100% crit in any meta build. You see 70-80% (IE+Zeal+Zeal, IE+Zeal+ER) in high crit ones, and 40-50% (IE+Zeal, IE+ER, ER+Zeal) in low crit ones. Full crit builds are only good on Yasuo, because you lose out on so many items you need on everyone else.

You're using a highly theoretical build, one that looks good on paper, but sucks in practice. Your build would be 4 crit items and Bloodthirster. That leaves you only boots. You now can no longer kill tanks, because you don't have space for Lord Dominik's or Mortal Reminder. It would only work against a team of non-burst squishies, because you have no tank-busting items to kill tanks, nor do you have defensive items to survive burst. Your build would literately only work against a team composed entirely of enchanter supports and marksmen.

I'm so sick of people claiming that just because they have a valid argument, the opposing viewpoint has no validity anymore.

My point only makes their point invalid because mine is the opposite of theirs. My point is such a one that we cannot both be correct on the same point.

Revert item 3031 damage buffs

Lower item 3087 damage, increase damage against creeps, make its energized strikes not crit. It's meant to be for waveclear.

item 3094 Lower damage, lower attack speed, increase damage against structures, maybe allow crits against structures and increase price. It's meant to be a siege tool.

Make item 3812 damage prevention half as strong for ranged users

Increase item 3153 attack speed and damage, decrease %health damage for ranged users, to encourage the stats provided to be used for taking objectives like the class is built to.

Add a new item 3086 upgrade that doesn't go up to 30% crit and focuses on attack speed instead. This one's just a bit of personal wishing, but it frustrates me that the only way to get to 100% crit chance, involves using the same two items or overspilling crits. Emphasize objective taking with the new zeal item while also providing a new option to get to 100% crit.

The simple fix.

Add in a cheap item that builds into an AD and an AP item that makes it impossible to take more than 10% of your maximum health from an autoattack, and reduce the AS cap to 1.5 (from 2.5)

Now ADCs can't burst down squishies anymore, needing at minimum ~7 seconds.

I love Skarner as my main, but with how the game is now. I can not really gank well until lvl 6 unless the enemy is brain dead. But by the time I am level 6 the enemy jungler has already ganked what 5 times. And maybe 3 of those ganks ended up with kills. That is my main problem with early game is some champions are just hurt just as much as late game champions.
