Yeah, I think I've hit my limit.
This was originally an angry rant about everything I hate about the game currently, but I realize that a more constructive criticism would be less obnoxious.
So, first of all, biggest issue for me. Supports. They do way too much, for way too little, and Marksmen are warping the game because of all the free stats they get from having those supports.
Stopwatch. This item...just...uhg. I hate this item. I wish it had never been conceived of. It's only served to highlight how annoying and obnoxious Stasis as an active ability is.
Top lane. I've been a top lane main for about 3 or so seasons now, including this one, and I hate it up there. I used to love it, but god it's just gotten bad. Fighters and bruisers are still piggybacking off of keystones that weren't designed for them, and tanks seem to be destined to yoyo between broken and slightly too strong.
The new champion. I have ALWAYS been at least a little interested in new champs every time. I have before this day never been 100% uninterested in a champion before. Today breaks that record. I am so unimpressed, so disinterested with this champion's kit. Every ability she has feels like it was stapled on from another champion's kit. I know that shit reasoning gets tossed around a lot, but her ult is literally jsut like Rek'sai's minus the untargetability and damage. I was so hoping this would be a void monsters. I LOVE the void monsters. All of them are cool and unique in their own ways. When I heard void marksmen, I thought of the Hydralisk from Starcraft, those things that shoot pressurized spikes despite having claws that could rip you to shreds. I guess this comes down to being on me for not loving or even liking this new champ, but I feel like this was a hugely missed opportunity.
General refusal to fix any of the game's inherent problems. Riot has dragged its ass A LOT these past couple seasons. Metas that everyone generally agrees are completely awful go on for way too long despite very popular opinion that they suck. Remember Feral Flare meta? That shit died in ONE PATCH. Ardent Censer meta? LOL. It feels less like the game changes metas organically like it used to and instead changes radically over night when Riot decides "okay NOW let's do some changes" after like...3 or 4 patches?
Communication is lackluster. Riot has promised over and over, "More communication" or "More transparency". The champion roadmaps are a start. I generally enjoyed the insights into what was going on behind the scenes, but I always wished there were more. We only get one once in a while. They pretty much refuse to talk on the gameplay boards. You are more likely to find a riot response 9 out of 10 times on /r/leagueoflegends. That's not even an official Riot site! Like, who do I have to kill to get a Riot response HERE, on their OFFICIAL forum?
I don't hate League of Legends, I don't hate Riot. I've had a ton of enjoyment over the years just playing league with friends. I have the friends that I do now BECAUSE of league of legends. But as of now, I just feel like I need to get out, or at least take a break from playing regularly.
