Riven isn't feast or famine

Shes an overloaded as hell champion and you're lying to yourself if you say otherwise.

But im not gonna QQ about her since half the damn community mains her (bcuz theyre so gud with her11!)

Just saying that an AOE knock up, AOE stun and AOE execute makes her a threat no matter what.

I saw a Riven top against a Gangplank. I expected the GP to be ripped to shreds but to my surprise he absolutely crushed her. It isn't that the Riven was bad it was that the GP knew how to play against her.

riven has 2 core issues.

  1. her ad ratios are extremely high (primarially in her passive, and especially when compounded with the free ad on her ult)

  2. her shield scaling is just far too strong. AD scaling shields are far more dangerous than AP scaling shields simply due to the fact that ad increases aa dmg while ap doesn't.

Ever see a Riven vs. Pantheon or Riven vs. Garen matchup in high elo?

Riven vs. Pantheon is still annoying in low elo T_T

Actually she isn't. She's got a good kit if you know what you are doing, but it has limitations.

AOE knock up

So do a lot of champs who have a better charge on it as well. Sejuani is a great example. Her q moves faster, farther and is also an AOE knockup

AOE stun

Shortest duration stun in the game and melee range. How about a stun like Veigar's? AOE, lasts longer and can be cast at range. Much more powerful. Or Gnar, knock back/stun at the same time.

AOE execute

On her ult, one shot, narrow wedge and lets you know its coming as she has to power up her sword first. Not nearly as dangerous as Katarina's death lotus.

The reason posts on Riven get so heavily derided is that Riven can be counterplayed rather easily and really only becomes dangerous if she is fed early. She starts as one of the squishier melee fighters and never becomes much stronger. Most Riven's end up being glass cannons who are quickly taken down by any hard CC.

And her AOE knockup requires her to use all 3 of her Q dash attacks in sequence. You know its coming and can back away or spread out. She's dangerous if you group up and allow her to get to your carries as she wants to assassinate. Force her to duel someone like Fiora or a fed Nasus and she's easy to execute.

It's a nice kit, but its not overloaded. I've fought her, and done well, I've fought with her on my team and lost badly. Player skill matters. Heck, I don't even main her. I tried, but couldn't get the timing down and have not brought her out much since. She's definitely a champ that can be fun to play, but she requires practice and skill.

not really relevent to compare each individual move to random champs on the rosters. Everyones kit is different . its how it all combines that creates issus. Katarina death lotus has nothing to do with this discussion. Katarina doesnt use shields, or cc, or ad, etc

I don't main her, but i do main a counter to her. She's honestly fine if you take the time to learn how to play against her.

I have no issue with Riven, most of the champions i play have almost no problems with her (or maybe im just too damn good lol nah)

HOWEVER, there is one major problem and one minor problem i have with Riven. The Major one is her BS shields scaling on a champ that builds full damage and it also offers mobility... That shield is better then almost any supports shield. The minor problem is that her execute is literally better in every single possible way than Garen's execute and yet they wont buff his even though its CD is stupidly long and its damage sub-par as far as an execute goes due to the fact it doesnt scale.

She is feast or famine. 'Nuff said. There is a reason she has the highest scaling abilities in the game(all off of AD), she is meant to kill if she wins lane. If you feed Riven, you lose the game. If you don't, she will only be a threat if she flashes upon a carry. Have your jungler camp top, Riven won't be able to do anything if she loses lane.

Feast is actually a good mastery on her. It alleviates her terrible sustain pre-hydra
