How does my Vladimir build sound?

Build order: ,

( If I go mid ) OR ( If I go top ) , , ( If 3 or more AP ) OR ( 3 or more AD ) , , OR ( If they built MR ).

I looked at Vlad Maine's recommendations and came up with my own.

This build gives me full CDR and some defensive stats as well. The reason I don't like Ionians is because defensive items scale better than any given item with only purely offensive stats. 25 MR or 25 Armor gives more than 15 magic penetration for example. Vladimir is also a champion that suffers from a weak early game that makes surviving lane more important than winning lane.

Building Rabbadon as a third item may seem strange, but personally, I believe it's worth it considering he scales better with AP than health.

As for building Banshee's instead of Spirit Visage, I believe the latter is the better purchase because SV doesn't offer any form of AP which is similar to what Vlad Maine prefers.

Rylai's Scepter is pretty core on him. It provides utility in slowing and allows him to stick to targets. You can achieve maximum CDR through Lucidity Boots, Zhonya's, and a proper rune setup. Zhonya's I'd say is core due to the CDR and the active, buying you more time to pool. My typical build ends up something like:

Lucidity, Zhonya's, Rylai's, Death Cap, Void Staff, and sometimes Banshee's or Liandry's or Protobelt depending on matchups / desires.

It's just extremely synergistic with his kit. Have you ever died half a second before your ultimate goes off? I'm sure you have. That's the time Zhonya's could have bought you, since the healing still affects you in stasis.

It's applicable to a lot of other characters. Swain is another one that heals in stasis.

I reckon just item 3152 item 3158 (Optional if against heavy AP item 3001 ) alternatively you can go item 3116 item 3089 item 3135 item 3157

I don't consider zhonyas hourglass situational as it feeds directly into his strengths granting CDR, AP, and the active delays taking any damage so your cooldowns can come back up before you get blown up if you play correctly.

I mean your build is okay but I don't agree with liandries(especially if you're already building protobelt), banshees won't be valuable enough especially since you already have your pool+movement speed to avoid incoming projectiles, and finally a lot of the gold invested into morellomnicon won't be that useful especially since vlad does not use mana and you can build other items that provide CDR.

Good review! I might consider taking Zhonya's regardless but Morrellomonicon might not be too bad even if I can't use the 400 mana. The 20% CDR and 100 AP still benefit Vladimir.
