Malzahar and Anivia will be nerfed next patch...

Calling it now. No matter where you look, they have the highest win rates (or very close to the highest) of all mid champs. Anivia is literally unkillable if she has support from her team, since any smart team will prevent u from killing her egg, and it's impossible to shove her into her tower post level 6. Additionally, it's really easy to combo with her, since all you need to do is wall someone off and ult+e them (or q+e them). So, we have a mage with amazing burst, waveclear, zone control, and safety with her egg. She has literally EVERYTHING you could possibly want.

Malzahar, on the other hand, is still insanely strong even after repeated nerfs. Free spellshield, %health damage, and amazing cc are just a few of the reasons why.

I can't really say anything about Malzahar since i don't play him and don't really see him but Anivia doesn't need to be nerfed and she shouldn't be. People just need to understand how to fight her and not just easily give her free harass and take advantages of her weaknesses which are actually quite a bit of them and she doesn't have everything you could possibly want...

You want to beat Anivia? Play anyone with mobility and you literally destroy her and make her useless, or play one of her biggest counters like Kassadin or play some one who can instantly delete her like Fizz. Don't even bring up the egg because most of the times the egg doesn't even save you, and in a 1v1 case its only useful if the Anivia was able to get under her tower or the enemy was stupid and overstayed trying to kill the egg. Does Anivia have her egg? Then jump on her with your ultimate and proc the egg, if the egg is not under her tower and you know you have the damage to kill the egg then great you got the kill...if you don't back off and jump back on her when your ultimate comes back. Worst case scenario you used your ~80 second CD ultimate and got her egg which is a 4 min CD.

Pre level 6, her entire lane phase is determined if she can hit you with her Q. Without her Q, she doesn't do any damage so just dodge her Q which is super easy anyways and you can easily jump on her and win a trade with any champion. While yes her post 6 wave clear is the best in the game, her pre 6 wave clear is ass, so take advantage of that and constantly push her under her tower. She will lose most of that cs under tower which will slow her down from getting the gold to start stacking her mana items.

You could also play poke mages and beat her that way. Yes Anivia's Q is long range but early on if she lands a max range Q, she won't really have the time to get back up to you to land her E on you since her E is short range (basically her auto attack range) which her ultimate as roughly that same range, so she isn't really that long range of a mage (besides for her Q and kind of her wall). Poke mages do well into her because of that and because she is the slowest champion in the game with the lowest base hp in the game so any damage she takes early in the lane phase will really hurt her and is easy to harass in lane.

Also because of her really high mana cost, she is forced into buying 2 stacking mana items item 3027 item 3040 which is why her skills do so much damage because she doesn't even get heavy AP until she has those 2 items. So by about 15 minutes in the game, she would have tear, and 1-2 stack RoA when compared to any other mage who would probably have item 3165 plus maybe a item 1026 so they would have twice the amount of AP Anivia has.

Also while her burst is strong, it's not like she has the only really strong target spell ability that can chunk people down half their hp. Just look at Viktor's Q does about as much damage as Anivia's empowered E, while giving him movement speed, a shield, synergies well with item 3285 item 3100 while having the same CD (when maxed), about the same range, less mana cost and less counterplay that doesn't even need any other ability for him to set it up.

If she was really really strong then how come no one really plays her in any LCS games? And the times she does gets picked she does very poor, hell even Froggen isn't playing her that much. I actually love fighting Anivia, yes I am an Anivia main but I never lost to one because I know how to fight her and how easy she really is to beat. I know I could just play Velkoz and just poke her out, or out burst her.

I'm not really seeing either. I wanna say the only reason they nerfed Malz was because whoever got him first in LCS just wrecked with him, and if that is indeed the case I still have yet to see another game where they played anivia. I don't know anything though and it's all up in the air. just putting in my 2

Ahri boasted the number 1 to 2 winrate for mids for years. Why would winrate matter for nerfs to mages? Hell malz had a high winrate for years before the mage update. Then he got stronger!

Anivia's always been incredibly strong against any team that relies on an immobile or semi-immobile champ to initiate or do things. Alistar ? Can't do shit if you can't get your target within cast range. Draven ? Can't do shit when you can't get into range.

The things is that she requires you to bait out her wall/ult, and THEN you begin the actual initiation once the wall can no longer stop you. She's also supremely strong against any kind of push since she can single-handedly clear minion waves for days.

Anivia's always been a strong champion few think worth banning and fewer think is actually all that strong. But she's strong, tough to gank, tough to kill and a great teamfighter, and often has a high winrate. But she's never been hotly talked about.
