Why do abilities like Darius's grab and Riven's combo out-range Kennen's auto?

This makes zero sense and makes Kennen unable to function against players who are good enough to avoid shurikens.

I just played against a challenger on Darius who hadn't play against Kennen in forever. By the time he reached level 6, he realized that any time I attempt to auto him, he can just pull me in and chunk 40% of my health before I can get out.

Why does Annie out range Quinn? Why does Caitlyn outrange pretty much everybody?

Why do range difference exist in the first place?

All these things surely are mysteries worth a lifetime of studying.

Or Yenn just doesn't understand how the game works.

As Kennen when he pulls you, you can just E W Q him, that should give you enough time to get away or just bait his E and auto him to oblivion.

He cripples with pull. It reduces your speed even in E to minimum, i.e. you're essentially rooted and can't touch him until you're out, and he's already unloaded. At that point, you're trading maybe 30% of his health bar, while he's chunked 45% of yours and can instantly kill you if he grabs you once more.

The same thing applies to his spin. It will hit you at your max range; if he walks up and uses it after buying Swiftness, you have to rush away to avoid it, leaving you even more vulnerable the next time you go to CS and he grabs.

You likely play sub-Diamond players, who tend to run into you after they pull. Nobody good does that.
