You don't main Xayah or Rakan

Mannny··9 votes·2,007 views

Stop saying you "main" the two when they haven't even been out for a week yet. They don't even have enough data to accurately grasp how good they are in the meta yet. You don't main them so stop saying you do. I don't care how many games you played in the past 24 hours, you don't have enough knowledge to play them to their fullest extent in a ranked game so save me the lose and play your best.

I say you cant main a champ until youve got a good 100 or so games on them.

What about people with M7 on them already?

It really doesn't matter. If people want to call themselves a Rakan or xayah main, how does that hurt you exactly? Not to mention how good someone is on a champion doesn't determine if they main them or not. If that is the champion they mainly play, that is their main.

Because when I lose my ranked games because they go 0/10 and have no idea what they are doing then it does effect me.

No, them playing a new champion in ranked and them saying they main a new champion are two different things.

"Let me Xayah she is my new main"

What I am trying to get at here is that you can't main the new champion if it hasn't even been out that long. Most people play their mains in Ranked and if your main is supposedly Xayah or Rakan you don't main that champion. It's that simple.

I understand what you are getting at. I'm saying it doesn't matter if they just came out. Someone's main isn't some exclusive title. Someone can refer to their main as the champion they've played the most since starting the game, someone can refer to a main as the champion they've been playing the most recently.

If someone starts playing xayah or Rakan the first day they came out, and never played anyone else, at what point were they maining them, and says who?

You are angry about someone playing one of the new champs in your ranked game, I can understand that. I even agree that people should really wait to play new champions in ranked, but you're lashing out at the wrong thing.

You even just said in your quote "new main". Why can't a new champion be someone's new main?

Yea I just realized I am lashing out at the wrong thing.

For what it's worth I'm sorry your game was so frustrating. I think everyone can sympathize with feeling like a game got ruined for a stupid reason.

This situation happened over multiple games where people would say they mained Xayah or Rakan and usually perform poorly. I messed up, got tilted and raged on the forums. My fault lol

Because no one played them while they were on the pbe right?

PBE and ranked in the actual client are extremely different.

In PBE there are testers, rioters, youtubers and all in between and in ranked people actually try.

you can most definitely decide you wish to main a champ. play stats and meta can go fuck themselves that's not the deciding factor. people can make their own decisions thank you very much. although if they do that about every new champion they're probably too wishy washy to "main" anything.

You can main a champion and still be trash at them.

I humbly disagree with your statement, the ONLY way to truly improve with a champion is to take them into ranked and just play them a lot.

If i've played 25+ games as Rakan over the last week, and you BAN him to stop me from picking him, then i need to pick a champion that I haven't played in a long time - nevermind the fact that now I dislike you as a person, because of your choice - your probably losing your own games at the pick/ban stage by being angry at players choices, which is hilarious when you think about it.

or you could like take them into NORMAL UNranked game, and learn them there?

there is next to ZERO chance you are going to be even halfway decent on a champ enough to take them into ranked for the first week...

if u dont have at least lvl 4 mastery on a champ... you cant call yourself "good" on them. (obviously this is excluded if u have that mastery on them on a different account you have)

i wont even TAKE a champion into ranked unless i have lvl 6 or every other possible pick i have was banned out.

and even then some of the champs i HAVE lvl 6 on i need to practice for a game or two on them becuase in would ideally picked them in ranked.

saying you MAIN a champ that was just released is nothing more than saying "hey look I'm a freaking moron, I'm going to pick a champ that is effectively GUARANTEED to screw over my team."

i have 1000+ games on nidalee... i have the 38th most nidalee mastery in NA... i can say i MAIN Nidalee

if u have anything less than 50 ~~games ~~ WINS on a champ saying you "main them" is being asinine.

Or you could play that game mode which is literally exactly the same but doesn't affect anyone's ranks.

Just a thought.
