Can We at least see who is Premade now?

LatetotheRace··77 votes·2,932 views

I remember back a while ago when I started using match info viewing sites, you could see which people were premades, and who they were premade with.

----Up until Oct 14, 2014---- Removal of Premade Detection By Lonin Oct 14, 2014 8

"In order to comply with Riot's effort to move all data gathering to their official API we have removed the detection of premade groups from LoLNexus. We apologize for the inconvenience."

(Directly from the LolNexus homepage.)

Is there any particular reason this happened? Was it in anticipation for Dynamic Queue? (Conspiracy is growing STRONGER!!!!)

But seriously, with the rise of larger groups in ranked, I would really like to start taking tallies of people who are playing together. I doubt I'm alone in this, and I see absolutely no reason as to why Riot would conceal this now vital information from it's players.

On a side note "https://developer.riotgames.com/api " has really fallen into disrepair, and there are quite a few outdated portions contained within the site.

If there is a site which allows me to do this, I apologize for the post, please point me in the right direction :D

EDIT: For those of you who would be inclined to say no, why? I'm curious for your perspective. That's what the comment section is for after all.

Do you honestly think Riot would let you know that? If people could exactly know how many times they are against a premade, it would give power to the community. This would make impossible for Riot to show shaped numbers to fit their narrative.

I agree so much with this. First they hid mmr in normals, then they hid mmr in ranked, then they forbid scouter sites from showing premades. What all these have in common are that they completely deprive the community of seeing how close(or far) the numbers are in matchmade games.

I wonder what else Rito shows shaped numbers for, should I tip off the IRS? :o

Also, if you could see you were a solo player in a 4 man premade, the amount of dodging would skyrocket.

Osaka 7783 votes

No. Such information should come after the match, not before the match begins.

WadeWilson13372 votes

Why? So i can go into a game not knowing if im going to be in an inevitably miserably experience or not?

Im just supposed to wait until after the clown fiesta is over to see the results and go, "Ah, thats why i felt like 30 minutes of my time was wasted?"

Wtf is the point of that?

It should be like LoLNexus, once you're in game it's available

I sent mails and commented directly, asking for this to be reimplemented into Riot API for about a month now. And nothing.

My guess, is that the current matchmaking is so bad, they wouldn't dare making this info public. I actually think we need to know when we are in the NCS what is the composition of both teams, as playing vs solos or against a 4-man requires completely different approaches to the game. This will give depth to the Draft process and will give us a chance to dodge when the system fucks up(damn i really needed that thing a few times already).

Considering it's often clear now since people can spot people together in clubs, I see less reason than before to try to keep it private.

You dont need to be in same club to play in premade..

Makes it easier to form a premade.

LatetotheRace8 votes

You're not wrong about this, but I'd say it's about 50/50 that they're in a club. I'd just like a system that's 100%.

General Esdeath 2 votes

Me and my premade friend are in the same club, in Discord, and know each other irl. But we sometimes turn tags off because they're ugly.

xVARIANTx3 votes

I was about to create this very same post! :D I think this is very important since mmr penalties against premade teams have been removed.

Right under Dynamic Groups, the second bold faced item there.

This exists in Heroes of the Storm and for normals too. It's only fair that the enemy team at least knows that you're getting an advantage.

Count Zubat2 votes

I thought you can do that on op.gg ... Am I missinformed?

DrCyanide1 votes

You can see who people have frequently played with in their last 20 games on op.gg. What the OP's talking about was when you clicked for info on a live game every sites would show you who on the team was actively in a group, regardless if if it was their first time playing together or their hundredth.

Well then Riot's bullshit about "premades only fight premades" would be proven wrong and all the people sucking their shoes would have to admit they're wrong.

xVARIANTx1 votes

I've been doing so some digging trying to find it, and can't. It was stated when dynamic queue was first announced, I'm having a really hard time finding that initial post though.

Back then being able to see who's premade actually led to toxicity, because in a midst full of solo players and when there's a duo? Better troll or something. Bonus points for matching names. Even more bonus points for duo bots.

But now that DQ is live and that premades are expected, yes please.

dunkeroni1 votes

You usually can tell based on how they roam and what club tags they use.

LatetotheRace3 votes

As a good rule of thumb yes, but a system that guarantees my suspicions would be greatly appreciated.

Knowing if a team is premade actually can tilt your team... I had it happen two days ago... so yeah... Club tags shouldn't even be listed in ranked.

LatetotheRace1 votes

Well since they're ok with tags, I see this as pretty much on par.

If this was last season, I would agree but now we need this information.

What I mean is, they're not gonna give us all of the information so don't show us clan tags, or they can give us all of the information, either way. lol

Fair Enough

They do this on Heroes of the Storm (which seems to be like the easy version of league, an eternal bronze level if you will). People who are grouped up have a party icon next to their portraits.

You can of course just check the after game stats and match history to find out, but it would add some nice clarity to who is premade straight from the loading screen so you know what to expect.

Canidae1 votes

op.gg still keeps track of who people have recently partied with. A few minutes of detective work can help reliable figure out who on both teams is partied with whom.

I've heard people argue that it might be used as a form of "discrimination"

http://www.mememaker.net/static/images/memes/4490831.jpg

It's getting to the point where U've seen it all (as a support main)

  • the duo bot lane (why did I not get support primary....oh.)

  • the mid/jungle duo (you can stop camping now...you kinda need to farm your jg too...)

  • the top/jungle duo (where did our towers go?)

  • the top/jg/mid (no seriously, WHERE DID OUR TOWERS GO?)

  • the mid/duo bot (how da heck did I get top lane....)

  • the 4-man queue (never playing blind pick ever.)

  • the foreign 4-man queue (never playing blind pick at 2am EVER.)

  • the mid/top duo (stop flaming our jungler, stop flaming our jungler, stop flaming-- OH GREAT, THEY'RE BOTH AFK)

  • the jg/adc duo (STOP GANKING visiting BOT LANE)

With the implementation of clubs, it's easier to see who could possibly be in a premade based on their club tags. Granted when I duo with my friend we have two different tags so I acknowledge that this happens. It's better than nothing.

LatetotheRace1 votes

I think this needs a red post.... Doubt it will happen though.
