Does anybody else feel Skarner is just weird with his new passive?

I was playing another game as Skarner and my clear speeds were ass if I wasn't by a spire but they were god tier when in one.

I ganked top lane but forgot I have like .6 attack speed from 1.0 when in a spire so the gank was horrible.

I dueled the Renekton top lane and did shit for damage. Later I fought him in my spire and absolutely destroyed him.

What I'm trying to say is Skarner feels S tier in spires, C spire outside.

Anybody else?

I loved playing Skarner, but I have a visceral hatred for any kind of "King of the hill"-esque kind of gameplay, so yeah, I don't play him that much anymore.

His spires give him a god tier power spike...As long as he remains in them.

Thats the point. Territorial objective game is his new name.

I think it would have been cool if he could choose where he wanted to place them

Skarner used to be my most played jungler before this rework. Now I can't stand playing him; having all of his power dictated by his location and controlling objectives is unique for sure, but when enemies can counter you simply by not standing in a circle, it gets silly, and feels far more binary than it should.

Fighting near a spire you control? GG, you win the fight. Not near a spire? Too bad, you lose because all of your power budget is contained in the crystals.

Skarner's only saving grace is his good power around Baron and Dragon, where enemies are forced to go into your zone to stop you, but otherwise he feels very unrewarding.
