Jhin consensus

I'm wondering what the community thinks about Jhin as a whole. I personally think he's way more than only situational, as I feel he has great synergy potential, but without the right team he's a bit useless. I also feel like Jhin has been placed into a meta in which he cannot hope to contest. The current meta for bottom lane is a bevy of burst/caster marksmen who for the most part have strong mid-early games while falling off late game. Whereas Jhin is a late game marksman and he can fight and outplay his competitors late game, he still has to get there first which can be quite the struggle. Lastly I would like to compare him to Mordekaiser ADC. They're both reliant on their supports to make plays early game, they're both quite immobile, and they both have high damage potentials but very low average DPS.

Well that's enough blabbering so let's get down to business. I kind of think Jhin is a bit weak in his current state, but you might disagree. So by all means vote and share you opinions, I'm curious to what everyone has to say!

EDIT: If you disagree with the first section, by all means ignore it. I don't want to push for my opinion, as it's from my experiences only. Just keep it civilized and let's all communicate together.

I think he's got a couple of glaring flaws, one of which being he is incapable of protecting himself whatsoever due to him having disgustingly low move speed and that his rate of fire is so low. I really like the champion but even if you are every fed it's basically impossible to get away if flanked.

Last season I was Gold 3. Currently, I have 25 games as Jhin experimenting in a Silver 3 ranked solo environment. I've tried him out in all lanes and even an attempt at jungle. Here are my thoughts so far:

Jhin is pretty well balanced imo. He has his strengths and weaknesses and they are very clear cut. I have had by leaps and bounds the most success playing as Jhin top lane. Its not that he is not viable as an adc, its just that it is difficult to take advantage of his skillset if you're playing against a competent support. The majority of his damage will come from his 4 auto's while his other abilities are used mainly to control the lane and keep your opponent/jungler at bay and/or prevent their escape to secure a kill. Its much more difficult to do that when there is a dedicated support in the picture. As far as mobility is concerned, if built correctly, Jhin has it and he has quite a bit of it. His ability to kite while firing off a single auto attack for massive chunks of damage is quite appealing. The range on his W also allows him to quickly sprint into a fight, unload 4 shots and disengage to the back line in order to reload and/or ult very quickly.

He's so much better mid than adc. But for the love of god could he please reload faster?

I think he is balanced. Very good strengths and very defined weaknesses.

As an adc he is not at all an optimal choice.

Mid is where I feel he works best.

Top is OK some matchups, but the length of lane makes ganks a massive threat due to his slow speed, and many champs with fast gapclosers can wreck you because their tankyness invalidates a lot of strategies that can work on a squisheir mid that has similar gapclosing.

I think he is in a good place, is a little bit team reliant which is rough in solo Q, but not unviable even with randoms

I believe he is balanced. He is more of a team player than any other ADC which is something really new. He is a great executioner and kill securer and needs his team to help him wear down his enemies in roder for him to get the kills and then be a treath by himself.
