Ap crit?

So I was recently playing Diana and I had a nashir tooth i've been decided to build a phantom dancer and came to some strange results I hit a minion and I saw it crit for around 700 damage as magic damage . I'm curious if this was stacked with my attack damage or if this was a raw ability power crit. Does anybody have any insight on how credit works on AP champions
