No but seriously, you see Rammus coming from a mile away, he is one of the most predictable, least dynamic characters in the game. The only thing he has going for him is an amazing defensive steroid... every other part of his kit has been gutted time and again... even the one part that Riot once claimed would not be nerfed (Puncturing Taunt) which was gutted from 3 seconds and high armor shred to 2.25 at max level with pathetic armor shred.

Basically, if Rammus top is doing well, it's a statistical anomaly or a natural response to the ultra prevalence of AD in the modern metagame.

With a .99% playrate it looks like he's a pocket counter to certain meta tops right now. For example Fiora and Quinn top.

For some strange reason, Rammus is shown as a counter to Nasus with a 65% Win Rate over the Big Dawg. And it's 55% over DEMACIA!!! These numbers are swayed heavily by the 1% Pick Rate Rammus is getting.

This is a perfect case of a balanced or even weak champion becoming stronger not because of changes made to he champion, but changes made to other champions. Triple ADC meta bro, of course Rammis will shine in that environment. It's like the one thing he's good at... Times 3.

Don't worry though Rammus isn't a LCS contender so Riot will probably need him to the ground soon enough.

He's onconventional and played mostly by people who really know what they're doing. Also because of his rare appearance toplane many people dont know how to lane against him, which gives others the upper hand. A percentage stat doesn't mean nerf now. You have to consider why he's doing that well. perhaps it's mostly a counterpick to the quinn top.

I am not even a top main and I would shit on any rammus that came top - it's an absolute joke lane. So incredibly easy for just about every top champ.

If he had that win rate at a different time, it may have been indicative of a problem. But the fact that the current meta seems to favor 2 or 3 ADC's to a team, would certainly suggest that he's favored in the meta, while not being objectively powerful.

When you have Quinn top, Yi jungle, and an adc, picking Rammus just makes sense. But I suppose we should nerf Rammus because people have a terrible sense for team comps and putting all their eggs in one basket

because hes a counterpick and destroys full AD teams, thats it. its not like people are picking him because they want a rammus on their team, they're doing it to punish the enemy teams poor choices.
