Unpopular opinion

Mobility should have trade-offs, like less damage and less durability. Not mobility with durability. Not mobility with Damage. It should be one or the other.

How is that unpopular opinion?

This isn't an unpopular opinion The only people who think mobility shouldn't have tradeoffs is Riot

LatetotheRace1 votes

And thus unpopular. Riot never posts to this shit lol, so it's clearly a huge taboo for them anyway.

Cause his E meant to be like any dashing of divers like Xin E and Vi Q. It problem of old outdated kit.

Don't forget the auto attack speed buff he get from it too!

This is how you end up with Ahri, who has a decent winrate despite being effectively useless.

Calling Ahri useless reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Are you insane?

MagicFlyingLlama1 votes

No, i am a M7 Ahri main with 3 times higher mastery than any other champ.

Her damage is shit, basically ends up being a lane-holding distraction and engage for the team.

OHminus2 votes

I'm not saying I'm a expert on Ahri but I do have mastery 6 on her with a decent number of games played.

I think Ahri is in a very good spot atm (was pretty bad for a short time before 8.15 due to being pushed out in favor of LB, Zoe, Talon etc). E was given a huge buff recently and with the current electrocute assassinating squishes isn't too hard.

Look at the PBE.

Apparently riot heard all the bitching about damage creep.

IMO seems kinda dumb to give bonus move speed to crit item 3086 items allowing ranged adcs to easily kite people while smacking crits and having all the attack and movement speed in the game

With the exception of Jhin and I guess Kalista, ADC's usually have pretty low movement speed evein with zeal items, and the ms really only helps with kiting more than actually evading enemies.

I play a few immobile adcs so full biased I will say that I agree with OP.

This is simplistic to the point of a fault. It's not "Not mobility with damage" it's "Not mobility with damage WITH durability", or vice versa, or any other type of niche champions tend to fill. Have mass zone control with damage is fine, but they tend to lack durability. Having mobility with damage and durability is fine, as long as the mobility is limited to specific case scenarios, as seen with most divers. Ex. Divers have targeted dashes/dashes that need more set up.

You dumb down champion creation, and as one person made a point with Ahri (though i'd take it with salt), create people whose job is only mobility, which isn't a team contributing skill, but a selfish one, creating winrates that only win due to the fact that 'they can't be killed by the enemy, so your team has less of a chance of having a feeding team mate'.

Having a champion focused only around mobility, can lead to even more frustrating cases for both sides, where one can't kill the other because they lack the damage, and the enemy can't kill you, because of how much of your power budget has been put into mobility. Stop thinking of it as "you can only have these two keywords".

Think about it as a bar that needs to be filled to a point, and anything over that point, is considered overloaded. Having too much of that bar filled with "Damage" or "Mobility" causes cases that become frustrating, just look at Champions whose main contribution is damage (Master Yi for example.) He's an example of a frustrating champion, not because he has mobility with damage, but because damage is all he brings along with his mobility, so more of his Bar is filled with damage.

I think Velkoz being deleted by a hyper mobile champ every 9/10 games.

Buy Swiftys on a mage, tell me how it works out without the magic pen Spellbinder, cleaver, triforce, the items that give good MS and stats are required to make the role that buys them valuable Darius ain’t shit without some Cleaver for MS Jax ain’t shit if he can’t stick to a Quinn with triforce MS Teemo ain’t shit if he can’t run it down mid at Mach 10 after buying a shitty item

Actually, mobility usually does have a tradeoff. Its just that riot seems to care less and less.

That said, with every champ getting mobility it also matters less
