If we got rid of Yasuo's "double crit" passive, what would you give him in exchange?

Cloud273··2 votes·510 views

Let's pretend that Riot was willing to do this, what would you be willing to give Yasuo in exchange? And don't pretend like he wouldn't need anything because he definitely would.

Some suggestions: -Yasuo's crits now do max damage. -Yasuo's 3rd q (knockup) no longer expires. He can hold onto it as long as he wants. -Yasuo no longer has sh*t base hp. -Wind wall cooldown significantly reduced.

Crits do max damage: It's logical.

Yasuo's 3rd Q lasting forever: Hell no. This would make his laning phase ridiculously strong being able to zone you for even longer with nado now.

Yasuo no longer has shit base HP: Okay.

Windwall CD reduced: becomes much safer (He isn't safe, stfu, he's the toplaner that dies the most kthxs)

TLDR: He becomes a bruiser, bad idea.

Well people clearly don't like the double crit passive. Do you have a better idea?

Some idiots in bronze/silver not liking it doesn't mean they should change it.

Or, we just remove the double crit passive and that's it.

Or not because his double crit is his main damage steroid (his ult's armor pen only lasts 15 seconds). Unless you want the return of tank Yasuo?

Astôlfo2 votes

Tank Yasuo does just about nothing anyways anymore now. It means he'll actually have to build more damage, so if anything, it'll kill tank Yasuo even further.

Best Kog NA1 votes

That's not the point. I have no objections to gutting Yasuo.

Irelia Bot4 votes

third Q needs to have a shorter hold time if anything.

Astôlfo4 votes

Nothing.

GULAG 4 U1 votes

Haven't you've learned your lesson with tanksuo?

Astôlfo1 votes

? What about Tank/Bruiser Yasuo? Removal of Double Crit means he'll have to actually build more crit if he wants an effective ultimate. And with all his nerfs, Tank/Bruiser Yasuo is already fairly limited in its potential. So if anything, this would kill off Tank/Bruiser Yasuo even further.

GULAG 4 U1 votes

Giving nothing in return is turning him into a bruiser. melee carries need steroids, otherwise they'd be shitty vaynes/jinxes. WIthout double crit, Yasuo will be going tankier/bruiser like it or not. Removing Yasuo's double crit will make him a complete dogshit champ.

Oh but then the boards would still QQ about him : ^)

That's the issue. A standard Yasuo build is Either PD or Statikk, IE, lifesteal or damage-tank hybrid, and then two defensive and/or damage-tank hybrid. This is in the mid lane, mind you, where Yasuo is more concerned about damage than his top lane gameplay. And he's still often topping the death count charts for champions in both lanes.

If Yasuo needs to start building more than his standard two crit items (assuming Riot implements a crit mechanic for him shall they remove his first passive in order to encourage building crit), that's one or two item slots gone. One or two item slots where he will be a lot less durable, a lot more prone to dying (more than he does now). Yasuo needs to be durable enough to last in the middle of a fight.

"But what about guerrilla tactics for a more damage centered Yasuo!?!!1/" Good luck pulling that off if the enemy team is competent.

And guess what people will do. They will investigate ways of saying "fuck what you (the community mostly) want, I'm going to make your life hell" and improvise builds. Don't underestimate the creativity of the whole community, especially the upper echelons and the people in KR. There are plenty of items that can be used in order to bring about a bruiser or tank Yasuo.

If you remove the crit passive, then make his q scale down to it's min cd when leveling it up.

With no crit passive, buying zeal items would become nearly useless

Astôlfo1 votes

Uh. No, it would not be useless. Buying no crit (which is entirely Zeal-evo items outside of IE/ER) means his passive's armorshred/pen/whatever it is that I can't remember off the top of my head, is now completely useless.

Spicy Rice4 votes

Then revert that change as well.

If you wanted 100% crit, you would need either 2 zeal items + I.E + Esscence reaver

OR

3 zeal items + I.E.

OR

3 zeal items + 10% crit runes

Astôlfo1 votes

So what's the problem, again?

GULAG 4 U4 votes

It's impossible to effectively gain 100% crit chance on Yasuo without the 2x.

Spicy Rice3 votes

Or in other words, you can reach 100% crit, but to do so, you would sacrifice so many combat stats that you would become borderline useless

GULAG 4 U3 votes

If you actually bothered getting 100% crit on any champion other than yasuo atm, you're stupid, nuff said

Spicy Rice2 votes

To be fair, 100% crit Jhin is hella fun.

GULAG 4 U1 votes

jhin's an exception.

All of that is bullshit.

We can allow the cooldown of his q to not cap so low.

Spicy Rice1 votes

you mean that ability that is literally supposed to be an auto attack?

You want that ability to have a higher cd?

No I meant it the other way around. He should be able to get more cooldown reduction on it for building attack speed.

Man this is why people hate yasuo players. They're literally too braindead to understand a buff to their champion.

Spicy Rice1 votes

You realize your wording of your buff was literally stupid?

"Allow the cooldown of his q to ** not** cap so low

Why couldn't you have just said to let the ability get a higher cd : attspd ratio?

I said that he should be able to cap at a higher CDR.

CDR= cooldown reduction.

Thus he can have a lower cooldown.

Sees thread about taking away Yasuos double crit Thinks item 3143 ? item 3047 ?

Honestly only broken thing about Yasuo is his Windwall. I think they should change it to something like the projectile(s) get slowed down by the wall and the wall goes alot further, to make it so you have to use E and shit to dodge the projectiles rather than bloacking them completely.
