Summoner Spells Original Intention Reminder

ALL Summoner Spells should be customization choices for each player and not a forced thing, including Smite. Smite should be and needs to be focused as the objective spell, and Flash needs something done to it to open up customization for summoner spells. Anyways, I am really getting tired of Riot forcing things to do things their way and missed the old days of when Riot hated a meta game and people were free to do whatever they wanted, because right now champions, summoner spells, and even builds are trying to be forced to do the same thing that Riot wants us to do; and a lot of the community tries to force others to play their game as well instead of everyone playing their own unique style.

tl;dr : individuality is lost...

I don't take flash on most of my supports. Normally I go heal + exhaust sometimes smite/ignite in place of heal. I also enjoy ignite + heal on some of my mid/toplaners. You don't have to take flash.

I also don't see a problem with connecting the jungle items and smite. If you think you're a champion who doesn't need smite to clear the jungle (maybe nunu or fiddlesticks) then don't take smite. I had a fiddlesticks in one of my games who accidentally started his lane start instead of his jungle start, in the end I don't think he ever built a jungle item and he did just fine.

i know you dont have to use flash, but Flash has a mindset that everyone thinks you have to take it or you are a troll which is really dumb-- it is not so much needing Smite every game for objective control, but the identity of smite is being compromised since the champion smites discourage objective control and forcing the jungler to HAVE to buy machete just to get jungle gold is dumb, i am fine if they just made a passive on smite that made monsters give more gold, rather than forcing jungler to buy machete and if the smite nerfs go through to live now you have a shtty item that you have to buy because you have nerfed monster gold other wise, to be blunt i dont like the smite upgrade at all i wise smite was just a 40 seconds cooldown and had the options of madreds, spirit stone, or quill coat and get the stat enchantments that you want

also 50 seconds respawn timers will add a lot more interesting jungle chess matches as well and decision making between "should i hard farm, gank and risk being counter jungle, or counter jungle when the enemy jungle backs or ganks?" and right now in season 5 changes it is "clear full jungle and either ganks or base" very interesting decision making here

There are a lot of interesting jungle options right now, it's just all of those interesting options are in the summoner spell smite. IMO it makes the jungle options more interesting because they don't have to be 1 person's options they get to be a whole team's if they so choose. The different smite buffs in the jungle have actually made me enjoy jungling (the one role I hate because I'd rather sit there and farm or better yet tactically harass you as a support than have to gank you) and have made me enjoy the jungle even when I'm not jungling. On blue side I've been going supports with MS boost abilities (lulu, nami, zilean, karma) and smiting the enemy Gromps/Blue for the smite rewards (not even trying to kill the camp). As a jungler I really get to think about my jungle path, which camps I want to smite at different points and which I don't. Late game as a support I'm always trying to figure out when I can smite enemy wolves/raptors and when our wolves/raptors are up as well to see if I can gain us that extra vision. The vision wars is one of the best parts of the game, I believe, and this new jungle allows people who enjoy those wars to play a bigger part in it.

The chess match is now, are you counterjungling to take the camp or to get the smite buff? What do you need to deny them of? Can you do it safely? It's a lot more than just 'Oh look X champion is blue dependent, let me invade their blue'. Smite has also been taken in top, bot, and jungle during 4.20 games making it a more versatile spell.

I honestly thought counterjungling anything but a buff pre-season 4.20 was the stupidest waste of time. Honestly if the camp is back up in less than a minute I'm sure it's actually not going to be gone when they get back to it. Maybe you can name a jungler, but I can't think of one who can really travel between camps and clear them all in under 1minute. Mostly because you just don't walk that fast. (Unless you're Rek'Sai and then, oh well sucks to be you). Counter jungling actually means more when there's a longer downtime between camps.

making a one time decision between 4 choices is a choice--- an interesting chess match scenario is what occured when they lower the respawn timers to 50 seconds to allow for hard farms, counter jungles, or gankers-- if the jungle was on 50 seconds respawns counter jungling is more effective because there is actually a camp to kill right now you can full clear and then base or gank and not fear counter jungling since the camp is already dead

Okay we are going to have to agree to disagree here because I still think counter jungling in the old jungle was a waste of time. 50 second respawn timers means that nobody misses whatever camp you took, hell laners were taking these camps because they would be up by the time you wanted them and to me taking something that has no impact on the enemy team isn't really a meaningful choice. Having the spirit stone items with endless sustain for all junglers, took away choices. IDC how you defend your 50 second respawn timers I'm not going to see how they created any sort of 'choice' and I'm sure I could talk you up and down about why I believe the 80 second respawn and the smite options are better but you still aren't going to change your mind.
