Increase Karthus Auto Attack Range (PLZ RITO)

His attack range is disturbingly low and there's really no reason for that. Maybe back in the day when Karthus was among the OP picks, fine, but today he's been powercreeped to hell and really doesn't need a strangely low attack range like that (for his class).

Similar mages:

Anivia: 600 Range Swain: 550 Range Cass: 550 Range Ryze: 550 Range

Basically every other mage: 550+ Range

Karthus: 450 Range ??

Please consider changing it to 550

This will help last hit and harass with autos better.

Also you nerfed mana so now we have to auto more as well.

True but that tradeoff was made back when karthus was among the OP picks. Today, with how overloaded kits are, there's really no reason to handicap karthus like that. Plus, rito is buffing him so they agree he's weak right now.

You do auto on Karthus. You harass with Q and lasthit with auto's in the early game, getting the mana you use on harass back from lasthitting. His auto range is short but that's not the problem, it's his horrible auto attack animation. It's seriously the worst in the game.

Why on earth would Karthus ever even buy item 3100 over other items? Riot has said in the past that Karthus gets a bad auto attack animation/range to balance the rest of his kit, not to prevent him abusing one item. Karthus is often in close range due to his kit, yet you never see anyone buying on him because even with increased range it would still be pretty bad. There is way better items that are more important on him.

Because that item is only abusable in relation to AP and autos. If autos alone made his kit broken, add in LB enchansed autos as well as a completely solid slot item for Ap, Manna, Cdr, MS. All stats karthus only benefits positively from, would be strong. I don't see how that's in question.

If your argument is riot keeps karth autos terrible because 100% unaided by items his Autos being good would break him, how the hell is an item that's passive makes autos better not a benefit? Man its around80%+ gold effenciy on just its base stats all of which are good on karthus. Throw in basically 100% up time on passive adding an extra 75% base damage to autos with an additional 0.5 Ap scaling?

So like.... You want to say Riot keeps his autos trash to balance his kit? Your not wrong, I have to admit that I agree. But man,Next up why don't you show me 1 item that his kit uses better then item 3100 if we assume his auto range and animation become good? Like if just autos break his kit why is LB not a top tier item when we let that shit happen?

At least she got a huge range.

Btw if you’re having issues farming with her, consider picking up the yellow tree in second with attack speed + presence of mind. Laning phase feels so much better.

Sorry...good karthuses use auto attack to farm and Q to harass...

either way why would you need it? 450 seems enough for a mid range mage.

Like, i use both to farm so i never really got bothered by his range tbh. Won't say i'm a good karthus but i do well most of the time. Then again i just sit back and farm in top to late and then just shred em down in the teamfights.

Why Auto with Karthus at all. He can farm with Q which has good range, single target damage, and decent AOE for farming.

E gives MP for minions. Autos cost 0 mp. Lh with auto = free mp regin. Lh with Q = Worse Mp regin.

but he is already ranged and does not require a range increase. you see they did not want him to have infinite MP by autoing minions thats why his AA's suck so bad.

I was directling answering your question on why even auto with karthus. Because E gives MP so you Last hit with karthus autos. Its Unrelated to the thread as a whole.

So? Any Q cast stacks tear, hit or miss a minion. You can use Q exclusively harass, poke, and zone AND at the same time rotate in autos to last hit minions.

You get more MP back for autoing a last hit on a minion in then you get from the Tear stack, That mana then could be used to cast more Qs. Using the Q to accomplish what an auto does is a waste of mp. You might NEED to Q a minion, how ever If the auto was a viable option instead of Q well then the auto is always the better option.

Tldr unnecessary Q casts are inherently unnecessary.

Well, they are buffing Karthus so clearly rito thinks he's weak. This is a good way to buff him and give him consistency with other mages.

Yeah, I guess it wouldn't hurt to give Karthus that small buff. But I want the same with Eve. I want her to auto-attack with her tail, so maybe give her a 50 attack range buff.
