Sion should be on the radar for patch 8.5

Unless if the darius buffs will give him an actual statistical challenge, Sion is going to continue being the absolute #1 top laner.

http://www.op.gg/champion/sion/statistics/top

His play rate is now a healthy 8.6% while maintaining an asinine 55+% win rate. His statistically WORST matchup out of the entire top lane roster is yasuo, WITH WHOM SION WINS OVER 51.5% OF GAMES.

The 8.3 bugfixes were massive, it's time to realize that now that these bugs are fixed, some of the numerical buffs sion has received over time should probably be scaled back.

No, the new rune system is NOT the problem, before patch 8.3 sion had a normalized win rate and relatively low play rate. Any arguments stemming from the rune system will be curtly dismissed as sion would have become the apex predator at the start of the preseason rather than several patches in.

And so with that said, let it be known that sion is objectively broken and healthy. That is, Sion is a champion whose kit is fine, but whose numbers as they stand are simply overtuned as of now.

Lets not forget he is also the highest winrate suppoet aswell beating out both janna and brand whom both require some nerfs themselves.

He atleast needs his minion kick (i believe it is his e) looked at, far to easy to poke with.

This thread is just a followup to an earlier of mine. This time I merely included some of the counterarguments I encountered in the previous thread. I agree that his E should maybe be looked at numerically.

Like I said, I don't think Sion's kit is unhealthy, but the numbers are just way out whack now that he's had some much needed bug fixes.

Playing him, its not the bug fixes that allow me to dominate lane. Its the E spam and sorcery tree. Sometimes, things just take awhile to catch on. People generally only find the OP stuff when other people start to play it. I mean the only reason I even decided to play him, was because Allorim said he was sleeper OP. Otherwise I would have never even tried him. And as soon as you play him, you see the main issue, and I honestly dont think it was his bug fixes. Its his interaction with the Sorcery tree. It not only basically doubles the damage you do with E spam, which is incredibly easy to abuse, it also removes his mana pool issues with manaflow band, too. How they can fix it I dunno. Heavily nerf his E damage or pass through range maybe, but even then the spell itself doesnt do a whole lot of damage on its own, but with Scorch/Comet/Corrupting Potion, it does a damn lot, and he never runs out of mana.

People are saying that with the bugfixes that Sion's E hitbox when hitting a minion is wayy larger than before. I agree cause it does feel easier to hit; maybe they should fix the hitbox back to the S7 hitbox and if that's not enough make it cost a bit more mana for E. Then again, his hard matchups got buffed (albeit not substantially) but Camille and Fiora still shit on him as far as I know. It's not like he can just sit back and farm with E all game.
