@RiotRepertoir Is Singed a Juggernaut and Does He Have Any Plans?

I just think Singed is a prime target for something like what Darius and Garen have recently received with more mechanics added into their kits to make them more interesting to play as well as a unique AND fun experience. Any thoughts or plans for Singed? Singed

Early on in our exploration of these tanky damage guys (before we had any naming convention for them or anything like that), we actually did group Singed alongside the guys being updated in 5.16 and a few others as candidates for updates, and I actually did a few tests worth of exploration on Singed specifically to see how he might fit in with them.

What we decided/learned was that, although Singed is indeed a tanky melee guy, several characteristics of Singed made him much different than the others, and so he probably didn't belong in the same grouping despite the similarities. The main reasons I remember were:

  • Singed as a character seems to be all about wanting to be slippery and unstoppable, and Juggernauts are intended to be more controllable on average than he can tolerate being.
  • The coolest version of Singed probably plays up or re-imagines cool uses of his more tank/cc-like spells, Mega Adhesive and Fling (Poison Trail is already pretty cool/unique as is).

At the end of the day, Singed will have Juggernaut elements to him, but we didn't want to explicitly push him harder in that direction given the fact that he's already a pretty cool and unique character, and much of all this Juggernaut stuff was about making characters more unique within the groups they share many similarities with.

Alright, I can see that. I was just wondering if you had any plans for him, even on a small scale especially since the Juggernaut update was coming out. Thanks for responding!

Repertoir is there any back end data that shows the usage of his snare when flinging people into his Mega Adhesive? As cool as it sounds being able to snare someone I have a hunch that is almost never used. At all, and adding gameplay "combos" so to speak like Fling into Mega Adhesive may just be untapable power.

For this to become a reality though I believe at least 1 out of 3 things need to happen:

  1. Shorten the cast animation on "Mega adhesive". Currently you can't combo it with fling effectively as it is so slow to cast.

  2. Let "Mega adhesive" stay on the ground longer. It is often used to catch up in a chase but by the time you have crossed the pool to fling them into it has already run out. This would also allow it to be used as a zoning tool more effectively (similarly to Ziggs minefield that currently lasts twice as long as "Mega adhesive", [10s compared to 5]).

  3. Allow Singed more control over his fling. For example allow him to throw towards the direction of the cursor if the cursor is placed behind him (cursor placed in front of him would result in the current fling). Currently it is extremely hard to predict the direction of a fling, especially when fighting inside minion waves where champions turn around a lot irrationally due to collision.

Nr 3 would probably be my favorite to test and see how it would play out, as much as I dislike the clunkyness of casting "Mega adhesive" I believe that some more fling control (that would also add another layer of skill) combined with a slight raise in duration time for the adhesive pool would be the most fun/interactive change gameplay wise.

No. He's one of the most aggravating and frustrating champions to deal with in lane. He is extremely boring to play so isn't played much and thank god, I don't know what I would do if he was actually a common pick. He is the definition of anti-fun.

Pick ranged. Oh wait I'm sorry that was a stupid idea. GG Singed no counter play.

Never said he was no counterplay. Just said that he is frustrating to deal with.

Do you enjoy laning against Singed?

Hell, I enjoy playing Singed let alone laning against him. He's not that difficult, and he has 0 roam potential if you bought wards, and or ping. You literally just shove his lane roam, and kill the enemy jungle/mid, and he can only CS really.

I sure do enjoy playing as him though. Making overconfident Riven players rage in all chat is great.

Problem with that is that Singed's basic playstyle is perhaps the least interactive thing in the game.

There's a reason proxy Singed was a thing, you know.
