Anivia nerfs WTF Riot

Anivia Flash Frost (Q) chill duration lowered to 2 seconds from 3 seconds. [s] Glacial Storm (R) chill duration lowered to 1 seconds from 2 seconds. [s 1& s 2]

The Cryophoenix finally saw some play in competitive and is promptly getting nerfed. Meanwhile Yasuo, Tryndamere, and every other crit-related champ in the game are completely stomping everyone. No, let's continue nerfing mages who got the short straw at the beginning of this season and ignore the completely broken hilarity of marksmen or rageblade.

Why is Anivia getting hit over Brand, who has been extremely powerful with DFT and affecting more games than her? Why are ER and Rageblade not getting the brunt of the attention. Why Anivia, and not Yasuo/Gangplank?

Because double standards.

DFT making some mages which weren't problematic before too strong? We will nerf DFT and give Swain and Anivia sizeable nerfs too.

Crit items making Trynd and Yasuo, who were always toxic as hell to play against too strong? We'll cut Shiv's lightning damage by 20 and call it a day.

this is about pick rate not win rate

Anivia users are people who only tend use Anivia.

having high winrate is absolutly normal!

Take a look at those numbers. The average win rate for players with 5 or fewer games on her is over 50%.

She does need a nerf. Perhaps this one is a bit far, but she needs something sizable.

Look at her other numbers. Barely above average on kills, assists, cs, gold earned, and damage dealt. Above average win % and deaths. Now think about it. If her only noticeable stats are win rate and deaths, then something else is going on. Allow me to explain.

The only reason Anivia is experiencing an increase in win rate is the fact that she can easily wave clear once she gets items. It is very strong against ADCs since she can throw her ult down and move a fair distance away. This slows games down and helps stop snowballing.

That is why Anivia is doing well right now. But what you don't realize is that she has been doing this ever since S1! That is what Anivia is! She is a mage that focuses on control. Anivia hasn't receive a direct buff since patch 4.1. Those buffs even then were only mana cost reduction.

Anivia is a direct answer to the current meta and how snowbally it is. That is why her win rate is going up and not because she is overly strong. A nerf like this will do nothing to her win rate in this meta, but if these nerfs go through, as soon as the preseason smooths out Riot will not change them back. The exact same thing happened with Sej and cinderhulk.

unlogical shit.

Anivia has floor pick rate.

which shows one undeniable fact : she is not OP

Nope. Check those graphs again. Players with fewer than 5 games on Anivia have a win rate above 50%. That goes up to absurd amounts for dedicated players.

Yeah this is the wrong way to go about nerfing her. This will make her much less fun to play, as you'll often "miss" your q + e combo because the frost wore off before the e hit even though you landed your q. Same with ult + e. They should just nerf her base damages or ap ratios a little if they need to nerf her, not reduce the cohesiveness of her kit and make her feel finicky to play.
