this means that it's not longer an immediate root, at best it's now dependant on the travel time of his E.

Point and click root is fine... For as long as you can't lock enemy hero in it for 24/7.

Ryze gone to pretty much rework-shithole when Riot decided to touch him in the very first time.

He used to be a mana-based mage with medium cooldowns and his flux removing MR per hit, but that wasn't something Someone at Riot liked, so they changed him into "gatling gun mage" (those are the words they used back then).. And guess what... IT WAS FUCKING DUMB IDEA AS FUCK.

reminds me of something gbay said about the irelia rework. It was something along the lines that riot usually tries or tried to stay true to the champ´s original playstyle. He mentions Sion, Urgot and even Fiora and then asks why the fuck they had to change irelia´s playstyle entirely, while things like ryze exist, a champ that has to go through some many failed reworks, because of the developer´s unwillingness to abandon the possibly inherently flawed idea of him being a machine-gun mage.

If it was a skillshot he would probably be stronger. Annie has a targeted aoe stun and she doesn't get half the attention or changes Ryze does.

WOW. At first I thought you was joking.... BUt they are actually reworking Ryze again and he seems rediclously busted. Like he might be the best mid laner cause his W gives him back SOOO MUCH MANA AND COST NOTHING FOR A GOD DAMN SLOW 50% + damage :|..... DAFQ and since every other mid laner mana is getting gutted and he will be only mage to have mana Constantly.... Also love how they complained that tear into Arch is the reason they are doing this but now made them reliant on it again since they nerfed the hell out of every mana item and thier base mana growth. I also love how they change mana flow band to make it a must pick for almost every mage and now its going back to it since it gives you more Mana up to 250 and then regens 1% of your mana back at max stacks. gg riot gg.

i'd rather keep the rune prison root, otherwise just change the name, it's not "rune PRISON" anymore btw very happy to hear ryze will be nerfed and gutted again, on the other hand im pretty pissed there's like 40 champs that need to be reworked before him
