Why would anyone not pick Thresh?
- Stupid amounts of CC
- Gets super tank for free
- Is ranged and deals massive damage with autos for no reason
- Lands one skill is a guaranteed kill
- Free get out of jail free card
other team already picked him

Ahh, the easy to use super reliant peeling and shielding Janna / Lulu supports. I see everyone would still rather cry about Thresh though.
Because neither of those champions do anything useful? Thresh lands one skill instakill. Oh and hes also super tank and with 5 times the CC. But okay.
Wait wait wait. Janna is the HIGHEST winrate support in the game atm and she "doesn't do anything useful?"
I guess a strong shield that grants AD and allows for easily winning trades in lane is nothing.
An aoe knockup that can interrupt dashes when people try and engage on you is nothing.
The single best disengage ultimate in the game that completely resets a fight is nothing.
Movespeed and slows that allow your adc to kite out those powerful melee targets is nothing.
The definition of nothing has really changed these days...

Man Janna makes landing hooks such a pain to land hooks on. Doesn't help with
's questline that gives allies EVEN MORE Move speed.
Skillshots reliant
Only a good Thresh knows how to use his E
because to abuse him properly you have to play him at a high level which takes a long time to do. to play him is one thing. to win with him and master him is another.
I don't think most players should touch him. even if you do well in lane usually they don't know what to do out of it or how to abuse his roam potential, etc.
He's really too good all around. but to say he gets super tank for free is a joke. He gets a lot of scaling armor with passive but he also gets no scaling armor by default and his base ad is hideously low. he's actually pretty squishy if he doesn't build armor and isn't constantly picking souls.
he's more strong right now because colossus and relic shield passive quest make him less squishy which used to be one of his defining weaknesses.
Because Janna is broken and gives you free wins atm.
Because in ARAM you don't get to pick your champion.
Jannas winrate is 8% higher and she's never banned, so there's a pretty good reason.
Not enough IP/RP to buy him.
thresh really is a weird champion. he has the lane strength of a ranged. maybe not completely. but he has all in pressure at all times with no flash. unlike blitz. at the same time. he has the safety of a ranged champion. because he doesnt have to be in melee range to last hit or harass
at the same time. he has the engage power and the pick potential of a melee like blitz and alistar
??????? I don't get the idea behind all this. seems a little too much and not sacrificing anything for it.
cuz he banned.
cuz ill just play maokai support
Ever since Keystones came out I've found him really awkward to play myself, even though he was my main for a year prior. Going up against Threshes that think they're tanky early game as Taric is always fun, very easy to beat the snot out of them.
Because I have more fun playing Leona.
I'm focusing the new support. I will bring thresh back soon.
Janna actually is a better overall support atm. Thresh is a powerful lane bully and he has the ability to grant mobility, engage, and a small bit of disengage. He does some things particularly well but is weaker in other areas.
Janna however offers huge disengage and teamfight potential against most comps, as well as lane protection for an adc. Thresh is great for trying to win your lane, but if you can't secure the kills on the bot lane he has a harder time keeping the adc alive. Janna can allow those adcs to get to their late game farm and deny anyone interrupting you.
Thresh is great if you want strong engage and the ability to bully the lane, Janna is great if you need to protect an adc and cultivate them into a monster.
Other champions have their merits too. Personally I particularly like Taric right now. With lethality being a thing that little boost of Armor can really help your ADC surviving those early points of the game as it can help to negate the benefit of the lethality itself as well as offering some powerful crowd control if you are good at landing the stun from multiple targets.
