How so? Tanks live 24% longer. Everyone else dies at the same speed.

Tanks doing their job doesn’t make other roles irrelevant. :/

It does make them irrelevant when there is no reason to pick anything but hypercarries and tanks.

That makes zero sense. :/

Hypercarries get hit the hardest by this.

And oh no. My class can’t kill every other class in the game instantly with no counterplay. Rito plz nerf. :c

It doesn't completely invalidate EVERY damage class....It literally throws a wrench into the game and makes every champion that relies on landing multiple hits that scale largely on their ad / ap completely useless.

Its basically thanos snapping his fingers and now the game is a mess.

Even as a tank main, I would have to admit those items you came up with are too disgusting, and I don't think wit`s end is a good reason to have to go the be more toxic route.

But yes, black cleaver is an unhealthy item now that assassins are starting to pick it up and use it to synergize with their lethality. Not to mention it gives them 400 hp which an assassin has no business getting on such a powerful offensive item.

An assassin can use black cleaver to shred a squishies armor which allows them to basically do amplified damage (more than true damage) to their targets...if they even survived the first few hits...

So an assassin really isn't sacrificing anything when they buy black cleaver...they just happen to be able to kill tanks after purchasing it.

I mean. I don’t see them being that broken. It’s finally something that can deal with the absurd amount of %pen in the game. And it’s not like they don’t offer counterplay.

The problem is, it doesn't stop the heavy base damage and non ad scaling true damage / onhit that other champions throw out...

I only see this item gutting adcs (and yasuo) while champions with high base damage (darius for example) or do mostly onhit/bonus damage (jax) will remain unaffected.

It might affect yi a bit since he autos very quickly cause of his constant phantom hits causing it to stack up near instantly but then youre just gonna last like 20% longer against him which in a scenario where he is going to shred you anyway is nothing, especially since the item only gives 250 health.

Assassins tend to have high base damage so it wont hurt them all that much...

Atleast it will offer a reason to nerf vayne though since it wont hinder her W true damage, if these items brought tanks back riot would have to nerf her and make her into a specialized tank killer again. Shes already performing great in a non tank meta.

Yes. But reducing their ad also reduces their scaling damages so your actual armor and hp would mean something.

My point is, the game cant handle this because entire classes of champions will be gutted while others will remain largely unaffected.

No entire class is removed. Crit marksman like jinx will be effected yes. But not by that much.

Assassins will still take a hit because we’ll use talon as an example here, he still hits you 6 times. Reducing his ad fully.

Bruisers still take a hit, Darius will lose ad every time his bleed hits you.

Mages get hit by letting the tank get on them. All mages. Not some. All of them.

And this isn’t like tanks aren’t giving anything up. Those build paths are not good. The items are expensive, and they could easily share unique passives with sunfire and even gargoyle stoneplate.

Why is it okay that armor has not 1. Not 2. Not 3. But 4 different ways to be ignored on just items. But when an offensive stat gets hit the same way it’s broken?

Ofc it's not broken, as long as you get to tank every ultimate and ability that the enemy has all at once and still have 50% hp then it's "balanced"

Except that’s not how it would work in the slightest. Which just shows you didn’t read the post.

Tanks need items that are more stat efficient, and more importantly, more slot efficient while also letting them keep up in cs.

The issue is that damage picks build stats that improve both their combat against enemies and their farm. Tanks need something that gives comparable lines of stats as things like item 3071

item 3695 (placeholder) item 1028 + item 1029 + 400g (1100g) +250 Health +20 Armor Unique Passive -- Soul Seal: Your basic attacks deal additional physical damage to minions and non-epic monsters equal to 5% of their max health. Damage halved for ranged champions. (2s cooldown)

item 4401 (placeholder) item 3695 + item 3024 + item 1011 +200g (3200g) +650 Health +45 Armor +250 Mana +10% Cooldown reduction Unique Passive -- Soul Seal: Your basic attacks** and spells** deal additional physical damage to minions and non-epic monsters equal to 10% of their max health. Damage halved for ranged champions. (2s cooldown)

You don't fix the problem of too much damage by adding too much defense.

You just remove the damage there's too much of in the first place.
