If you're going to nitpick me over this one little thing your argument really isn't that strong.
How am I nitpicking? You posted a bunch of individual, sarcastic questions that were designed to point out flaws in the champion.
Unfortunately for you, they weren't actually flaws and most of your claims turned out to be misleading or straight up incorrect. I just called you out on it.
The fact that he even needs to build mana in the first place is a weakness. And don't even try to tell me he doesn't need it because anyone who actually plays Ezreal knows that's bullsht.
I never said it wasn't a weakness. Personally, Ezreal is more of a pest than an actual formidable opponent. I'd rather see him get a mini-rework or damage oriented buffs because I think he falls off hard.
Second Ezreal really isn't that safe. If you wanna talk about safety let's talk about how Jax can just press 'e' and become immune to auto attack damage AND take reduced aoe damage at the same time (and he can play aggressive while doing this)! Jax is a fcking safe champion.
See, as much as you would like to believe that, there's a huge flaw with what you're saying. Jax is a melee range fighter, Ezreal is a squishy med-long range marksman.
Jax, regardless of how strong he is, still has to get in close proximity to you to deal damage and make full use of his E/R. Ezreal doesn't have this issue, because he can stand back almost 1,200 units away, poke while proccing on-hit effects and generating gold, and then blink out even if he's already CCed.
Weak comparison.
He doesn't have an ability that makes him untargetable (Fizz, Zed, Xayah, etc) he doesn't get stealth like Twitch of Kai'sa, and he has no ms boosts in his kit. It's just a blink (With a REALLY REALLY long cooldown and high mana cost. Funny how you fail to mention this.).
He doesn't have an ability that makes him untargetable, yet untargetability isn't the only form of safety in this game? His entire playstyle is based around staying farther away and whiddling people down, he's not going to be in harm's way more than once every 20-40+ seconds if that. He is innately safe whether you choose to accept it or not.
As for the comment about his E: Any smart player is not going to get near a fight while it's down. Mana costs really aren't that big a deal considering Tear and Sheen are his ideal first back, and his Q reduces the cooldown of his E. In laning phase, it takes maybe 8-13_ish_ seconds before it's back up. In teamfight phases he's got so much CDR that the cooldown drops to about 9 seconds, plus the reduction from the aforementioned Q mechanic.
There's literally tons of repositioning abilities in this game. So no, I don't think this so called 'safety' justifies him being the squishiest adc in the game.
For the second time, all ADCs hover in the 1,900-2,300 HP and 60-85 armor range. You calling him squishy is misleading and inaccurate considering he has one of the safest kits with one of the most reliable and forgiving build paths. Being 50-100 max HP behind other ADCs is not that big a deal when he's got 50-80+ more armor than they do and can sit much further back.
Tell me one other adc who doesn't build crit besides Ezreal. Literally EVERYONE builds this.
I mentioned it in my original comment, Ezreal is a non-meta marksman who doesn't follow the same build path as others.
And how exactly does Jhin not conform to standard adc builds? He literally has crit items in his core build.
Because marksmen require attack speed, and Jhin doesn't require attack speed to function which is why 5 IEs + boots (or even 6 IEs) is a viable build path for him.
And yes counterplay is good but Ezreal's ENTIRE KIT is counterplay. He doesn't have a single ability in his kit he can reliably damage enemies with. If his enemies are good enough they will dodge his abilities and he'll lose. Some of Ezreal's weaknesses should be removed to make up for the extreme amount of counterplay that exists in his kit. Give him normal base hp and defense like other adc's, reduce his mana costs and cooldowns, etc.
Ezreal really isn't that weak considering he maintains a 20%+ playrate in all ELOs, a 46-48% winrate is totally acceptable for a champion with that consistent of a playrate. He's chosen for his reliability and safety.
