Gunblade on Leblanc?

I just want to know if it's viable or not.

I played a game where I went morello into gunblade, and I played pretty well. That being said most of my games on Leblanc I do pretty well.

My end game build was something like this: item 3146 item 3165 item 3020 item 3001 item 3157 item 3089 (I usually have a dark seal that I turn into a mejais last item, but if I don't this would be the build)

My reasoning behind it is the following: -Gives you extra AD for when you weave in auto attacks -You can use it for a little extra damage in your burst -You can use it for the slow after you hit your chains to maybe keep them in range -You can also use it with just your E and it will proc your thunderlords with your passive (I think)

I just want to know if it's viable, or just a waste of money? I'm only a mid gold player so I admit I have a lot to learn, so I don't really know what is gold efficient and what isn't. I'd prefer to hear from some higher elo players if possible. The only problem I see is that it costs a good bit of money, and the you don't really benefit from the healing. (I don't think, I didn't really check out the numbers)

I would classify LeBlanc as a "snowball" champion instead of a "late game"

In case you don't understand what I am referring to when I imply that there is a difference, "snowball" champions get their strength from being ahead of their opponents by level more than they do by purchasing items.

LeBlanc often plays very aggressive early game to force her opponent out of lane, off of cs, or by killing them (which conveniently forces them to be out of lane and off of cs) which puts them down in gold and more importantly, experience.

So what does this have to do with purchasing Gunblade or not?

Basically, it doesn't make all that much difference if you are able to get ahead early on.

You pointed out some really good reasons why it is a good item on her, so as long as you know how to play her mechanically, and when to use Gunblade's Active, you will do just fine.

Seems perfectly fine as a purchase if you can make use of it. When? idk, but it seems reasonable enough as a buy. I personally would thinK item 3152 would be the more obvious Hexteck item pick on her.

As for the Gunblade vs Protobelt argument,

Being an assassin, LeBlanc does lack sustain. She has no built in form of effective healing sustain, and she is not very good at putting out sustained damage.

While she can still benefit a great deal from Gunblade's ability to offer healing sustain from killing minions and monsters, it is not very effective for healing while she is actually engaging an enemy champion(s).

It is still strong for the reasons we already mentioned, but as far as the argument of sustain utility vs flat HP, .. Protobelt actually wins.

Flat health is a better stat for allowing her to be able to survive long enough to burst her target.

Again though, being ahead is really what matters.

If you are able to get ahead and you don't need as much "durability" in order to put down your targets, Gunblade will offer more damage and catch utility.

If you are not ahead and you really had to chose between the two of these, go with Protobelt.
