Darius before and after his rework

Before: I died to him in lane because I didnt respect his zone of threat, it's okay though, my team and I can easily make him useless and kite him to oblivion in team fights.

Now: Omg Darius no counterplay. I cant cs without dying to Darius. He has a pull and I cant do anything about it. So much damage from Darius wtf. True damage ult cant be countered. I cant itemize vs Darius, he has armor pen meaning full damage or git rekt. Darius slows me and makes it impossible to run from him.

Literally his entire kit got nerfed(except E) in terms of damage for his new passive and heal. Old Darius had everything new Darius has but with more damage and no heal, also was harder to itemize vs(magic bleed).

Please dont spout bullshit that he had pre rework that was stronger, stop saying his damage is ridiculous when pre rework had more damage at all stages of the game.

i mained darius before the juggernaut patch and him having a heal is the only problem I have with it. his w is worse than pre jugg, and the q delay is annoying. personally i enjoyed old darius to this one because back then darius had a like .5% ban rate and I could play him as much as I wanted. he used to be forced to build damage to do damage, or build tank to survive, but now he can build tank + cleaver and just do a stupid amount of damage WHILE surviving.

the rework was bad because it killed AD darius and pigeonholed the champion in building tons of defenses because of how reliant he is on a delayed damage boost and how punished he is for not getting defensive stats because his heal is %hp based I used to play Darius a lot and almost always played him AD, not tank, unless I was jungling him with a teamcomp that needed peel during sieges :( that rework killed all the reasons i loved Darius ; ;

man I used to play cinderhulk cleaver triforce darius and those items alone (+runes masteries) would get me around 2.8k hp. it was so fun

my usual build used to be triforce, bork, last whisper, maw and randuins. The dueling power of that setup was hilarious

Barely got his damage nerfed and his heal is IMMENSE.

Have you seen that thing? I've seen it heal over 1k health before and its on such a low CD(5 SECONDS), and even less with CDR which synergizes well with him on Black Cleaver giving him 20% CDR in itself, masteries which can give 5%, so that's 25% CDR just by one item which at rank 5 makes it a 3.75 second cooldown. Let's say he somehow gets 40% CDR, maybe gets Boots of Lucidity for it. Now on a 3 second cooldown.

He basically has his own personal Raka on him that heals for, at even just 3000 health, heals 1080 health. And deals headache-inducing damage in the process. Plus, he's sticky as fuck.

Okay so they took away some damage. But in the process they made him an unkillable burst damage machine. Seems legit.

He only heals if enemies let him hit them with the blade of his Q

Shroom Junkie1 votes

If enemies let him? Its kind of hard to stop him when he pulls you, knocks you slightly back in the process and slows you for 99% for a second. Its basically a guaranteed hit if you're not an idiot.

And other than that, you basically can't get within X range of him without him hitting you on it. Not a problem for ranged but unless your team is all ranged(which would be terrible...) then you're going to have a problem.

IsIsGankedParis3 votes

Yes if enemies let him, I mean whats with the enemys positioning if he pulls 3 people to get his 1k heal as you say. His fault right?

Shroom Junkie1 votes

Yeah forgot he has teammates to help him. But its always a 1v5 right?

Uhhhhhh... you forgot to mention that he need to be at ONE HP AND hit THREE CHAMPION with the blade to have that amount of healing which would NEVER happen against semi mediocre player.

so pls don't make a fool of yourself and think twice before posting on forums.

ALSO his Q blade width AND his E slow are both getting nerfed next patch, then you will have no reason not to dodge his q everytime.

I'll agree his heal can be ridiculous, but seeing as how he's a carry, it kinda enforces the idea of getting rid of him. Quickly. Also as far as stickiness goes, its part of what the juggernaut update was aiming for, so I'd say it's a success in that area.

Shroom Junkie1 votes

Exactly! It reinforces the idea of getting rid of him quickly. But you CAN'T. He's tanky as fuck and can be 5-man focused and still heal up enough and tank enough to survive for 20-30 seconds.

The main problem with him is his Noxian Might. 200 Bonus AD and instantly giving their entire team max stacks of hemorrhage isn't very healthy.

don't forget that W doesn't scale and no longer slows AS

The way his passive now synergizes with BC is pretty damn powerful.

I am not sure this is true. By reaching max stacks he gains more damage than before, doesn't he? And the physical damage allows his bleed to proc BC, which increases his damage significantly.

To add to this, Darius had two major problems pre rework. He couldn't build tanky enough but still deal relevant damage (Fixed with passive change and items and heal) and he was too easily kited (alleviated by items). Fixing these problems - necessary, in my opinion, to make Darius viable without being a problem (although it may have gone too far) - let the other aspects of his kit become actually meaningful. They are part of the problem now.

it wasnt like that, everyone knew he was bullshit in lane before rework.
