Darius is getting buffed

10% more damage on his W at all ranks, 5% more armor pen at all ranks of his E.

Darius doesnt need buffs, he has a 10.8% play rate in plat+ with a 49.7% win rate. He is also rocking a 36% ban rate, which means that darius is pick/ban in almost half of all games played in plat+.

Riot is trying to buff him for worlds because crowds love a good ult pentakill, but pro teams dont play darius unless he is ridiculously OP because of how easy he is to kite in team play. Also the armor pen buff is crap because it only is coming from the current trend of darius players to build over

I think they should just give him the ability to debuff champs that have bloodstacks by like 2% less damage per stack or something. Or no debuff until he uses crippling strike, like if they have 4 stacks and he uses crippling strike, then they have -8% damage, and 5 stacks he gets a bonus that bumps it up to 15% (instead of 10%). This way he gains survivability and dueling power, and contributes something to his team, while not eliminating his intended weaknesses (kite/range) and not giving him more damage. I also liked his old W when he applied an attack speed debuff for two seconds, I'd take that as well.

Doesn't he also usually take conqueror? max rank E is 30%, BC is 24%?

So those two alone take someone with 300 armor down to 159.6 then conqueror I think makes you deal damage to them like they have 128 armor. I know that's not 'how it works', but a close approximation I think.

Makes me remember why I don't like building tanky (especially armor) anymore.

Darius players aren't building item 3071 much anymore; they're building item 3078 instead, which this buffs even further. The more armor pen his E (or conq) gives, the less he'll need Cleaver to give, which makes Trinity further in favor of being the better item 3044 upgrade.

That's not to say these buffs don't help both buff builds, but they give more power to Trinity builds than they do Cleaver ones.

Which is why they are buffing these two things instead of buffs to maybe his stats, Q, or R. Buff those and he'd be more of a pain in the ass than people would believe.

that's why they should reduce his E cd instead of budding his damage
